They were really great setting up the tables and chairs how I wanted and accommodated my requests. They provide an ipod hookup for music. I had booked the room a month prior (cutting it close) due to the random snow storms and I couldn't trust the weather for an outdoor event. They were great to work with. It was SO much more affordable than everywhere else. I paid $630 for one of the ballroom's sectioned rooms that holds up to 75 people for the entire day (11AM - 12AM). It looks just like a fancy venue and the price is right. You can turn off the fluorescent lights and use the chandeliers so the lighting is not as cheesy. Bring your own everything and don't pay tons of fees (hundreds or thousands more) for every little thing if you're okay to hire your own people or get your group to help out come closing time. Definitely worth it for my wedding reception.
I booked the rec center's Columbine room (1/4 section of the ballroom) a month before my wedding in fear of random snow ruining a backyard wedding. They were easy to work with and set up my tables and chairs just how I wanted. Bring your own everything - and save hundreds or thousands. You are not nickeled and dimed for every single little service here because it's do it yourself. They have an audio jack to hook up your own ipod for music and a projector screen if needed. I rented from 11AM - 12AM and only paid $630. That's it! You can rent it for less time if you want. You just have to clean up yourself at the end (or hire some outside staff). I highly recommend this venue. It looks like a real reception venue. You can turn off the fluorescent lights and turn on just the chandeliers if you want. They are reasonable about bringing your own alcohol (you sign an agreement). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
