Tuckaleechee Retreat Center is a Christian non-profit, which is home to the National Office for Children's Bible Ministries, Inc. We offer seven cabins/lodges of varying sizes, sleeping from 2-40 guests! The main lodge features a beautiful saltwater pool, which is available to all of our guests, open Memorial Day through Labor Day. All cabins have gas fireplaces, fully equipped kitchens, grills, and hot tubs (except Firefly Lodge - fireplace and hot tub coming soon!). Bed and bath linens are also provided! Activities available to all of our guests include the pool, basketball hoop, corn hole, and fire pit. Bear Lodge offers five bedrooms, each with one queen bed and two sets of twin bunkbeds. Each bedroom has its own private bath. There is a large, fully equipped kitchen (two stoves, two dishwashers, two refrigerators, and plenty of prep space, pots/pans, plus silverware, utensils, etc.), and large dining room with 3 farmhouse-style tables. Adjacent to the dining room is a large family room with dual-sided gas fireplace and flat screen cable TV/DVD. Downstairs is a second living room with dual-sided gas fireplace, pool table, carpetball table, piano, and common space for meetings or just hanging out. There is also a washer/dryer downstairs in the laundry room. Both top and bottom levels have decks overlooking the mountains. Enjoy the mountain view from the rocking chairs on the top deck. Relax in the hot tub on the lower level outdoor patio. Bear Lodge is the perfect place for your family reunion, men's, women's, or youth retreat, and so much more! Parking area holds 10-12 cars. Additional parking space is available at the office, about 1/4 mile away. Please Note: The driveway to Bear Lodge is steep. Vehicles over the size of a 15 passenger van will not easily make it up the driveway and around the final corner. A large bus could park in our main parking lot by our office. This cabin is in Townsend, TN which a peaceful town right beside the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, one of the few free national parks in the U.S.!! We are nestled on the side of the mountain, overlooking the beautiful Dry Valley and Rich Mountain, where serenity abounds! Townsend provides delicious restaurants, several options for river tubing, souvenir and antique shopping, museums, horseback riding, and more! The National Park has endless opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing, picnics, and viewing wildlife. A favorite is the Cades Cove Loop Rd which is 11 miles of scenery and wildlife in its natural habitat. Just a short 30 minutes away, is Pigeon Forge, home of Dollywood and many fun tourist attractions and shopping options. Gatlinburg, located right beside Pigeon Forge, offers a wide range of attractions and shopping for the whole family! Firefly Lodge has the most spectacular, sweeping views of any of our cabins, and is extremely private and quiet. In season, fireflies sparkle throughout the 48-acre property, from grass to treetops. Firefly Lodge provides 4 bedrooms (see Sleeping Arrangements below for bed layouts) and 3.5 bathrooms. This 2-story lodge has an open floor plan on the main floor for the kitchen, living room, and dining room. Fully equipped kitchen features a Keurig, industrial coffee maker, 6-burner stovetop, convection/regular combo oven, dishwasher, trash compacter, microwave, fridge, and all the cookware/dishes needed to prepare meals. The dining room seats up to 22 people at the hand-crafted farmhouse style table. Additional dining seating available in the sunroom. Master suite, 2 bedrooms, and 2.5 bathrooms on main floor complete the main floor. 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom are on the lower level. Washer and dryer included in the second bedroom downstairs. Spacious living room downstairs for hanging out, provides a pull-out couch and 55" flat screen Roku TV/DVD. Step outside onto the covered balcony to relax in the rocking chairs and porch swing. Or enjoy the lower deck that opens onto the beautiful private pool (coming summer 2022). Until then, you will have access to the shared pool at Elk Lodge on our main property, from May-September. Gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains from the bedrooms & main rooms, balcony, and pool area!! The wide open lawn is perfect for family games and activities. Firefly Lodge is ideal for family vacations, small reunions, and group retreats!! Our beautiful 3-story Deer Lodge offers one Master Suite on the main level with a king bed, private bath, and washer/dryer; an open loft area with queen bed, two twins, and half bath, and two lower level bedrooms, each with two queen beds and private bath. The lower level also features a separate exterior entrance and private sitting room with fireplace (Please note: the lower level is accessible ONLY by an exterior staircase). On the open concept main floor is the fully equipped kitchen, dining area, living room with gas fireplace and flat screen cable TV/DVD, and foosball table. Beautiful vaulted ceiling in the living room gives a very spacious feel. Free WIFI is provided! Relax on the wrap-around deck with 2 charcoal grills, rocking chairs, patio furniture, and outdoor hot tub. A lighted walkway leads from the front door of Deer Lodge to the main lodge (Elk Lodge) where the pool is located! There is parking for 3 vehicles next to the cabin; however more parking space is available near the office.
