The historic John Oliver Michael House is a beautiful 20th century farmhous. Sitting atop a knoll bordered by its' own land of 40 acres it offers a very peaceful and private atmosphere for any occasion. This charming 20th century farmhouse surrounded by large oaks offers a very unique setting for your indoor/outdoor wedding ceremony and reception. There are several picturesque locations in and around the home place that we feel will give you many photographic opportunities. As soon as you arrive you will notice how peaceful it is.
Whether your gathering is large or small, we take it upon ourselves to give as much attention to details to one as to the other. Our private and intimate location can make either a small birthday party or a large outdoor reunion a celebration you will be proud to host. Because of the unique characteristics of the home place and surrounding grounds, you have many areas to choose from to host any occasion. The John Oliver Michael House can accommodate up to 250 guests indoors and up to 400 guests outdoors.

As you stroll around the homeplace you will notice how lovely the grounds are and what an ideal location this is for an outdoor gathering, large or small.
Our goal is to provide for you a private and tranquil environment surrounded by elements of nature.
John Oliver Michael built the historic John Oliver Michael House in 1903. As you come up the steps of the open front porch and enter the front door, you will step into the foyer, which leads to the parlor and dining room. All three rooms boast the original virgin pine as the beaded board for the walls and ceilings. The wood used for the beaded board was cut from the trees of the home place. The dining room also features the original fireplace. You will then enter the keeping room, which adjoins the open-plan kitchen, and the sunroom. Also on the first level is a private bath. The stairs off of the foyer lead to the landing on the second level. Here you will find two large bedrooms and a bath. All the flooring on both levels is of the original heart of pine.
We are proud to announce the new addition to the John Oliver Michael House, “Oliver’s”, a barn replica to be completed by April 1, 2006.
“Oliver’s” will be a large indoor event facility built within the beautiful oaks on the grounds of the John Oliver Michael House. The purpose of “Oliver’s” is to give our brides and grooms the alternative to the outdoors should they prefer having their wedding ceremony and or reception comfortably indoors or if the weather is unfavorable for an outdoor wedding. “Oliver’s” will feature a fireplace, full kitchen, two (2) bathrooms, built-in dance floor, stage, high, open beam ceiling, a large front and back porch with a double French door entrance and windows along the front and back allowing us to open up seating to the outdoors.
For small meetings or events, our Helen, Georgia hotel provides over 600 sq. ft. of meeting space with all of the important features you need. This small meeting space accommodates up to 40 people. Guests can expect free hot breakfast and free WiFi at the Hampton Inn Helen hotel.
The American Legion Post 233 is Loganville area's premier rental hall. The facility was completely renovated in September 2014. With neutral colors, an open floor plan and plenty of opportunity it is perfect for weddings, reunions, corporate meetings, etc. The venue offers a private room for a bride to prepare for her wedding along with a fully functional kitchen for your caterer to prepare your dishes. The rental hall and parking lot can accommodate 450+ guests (600 without a dance floor).
