WithinSodo is a beautifully-renovated warehouse in the SoDo district of Seattle with 5 event spaces: the Lobby, the Gallery, the Lounge, the Ballroom & the Rooftop Deck. These 5 spaces when combined include an incredible partially-covered rooftop deck with a spectacular view of downtown, a full commercial / catering kitchen, an A/V System with HD projector, 16-foot screen, 3+ full bar areas, 5 restrooms, a VIP / green room / bridal suite, Wi-Fi, & ample free parking. When WithinSodo was conceived, the Sodo building had previously existed as a metal shop, an industrial equipment sales location, and a warehouse for furniture storage. Its bones were strong, the space open, and the character authentic. Highlighting the natural materials and creating a "function through form" design was the goal. The addition of a rooftop deck and kitchen / bar facilities brings an entirely new level of versatility and something unique to the SoDo neighborhood. Perfect for wedding ceremonies & receptions, auctions, corporate meetings, conferences & events, catered events, fashion & art shows, dinners, outdoor BBQs, sports-related events, Quinceañeras, automotive functions, photo shoots, & private parties. Fantastic Party Venue, An Eventective User from Seattle, WA

We just had our corporate Holiday party at Within Sodo, and we couldn't be more delighted. The venue is gorgeous, unique, and very convenient, not to mention affordable. There is plenty of parking around, the deck (which we didn't rent because it's winter, but visited during our walk-through) is simply beautiful, and has heated lamps and covered areas if you decide to venture out in the winter. We had the two main rooms downstairs, which are spacious and, while elegant, keep a comfortable feeling. It lends itself to various decorations, and we had it looking absolutely charming. There is an equipped kitchen which our caterer really liked, spacious bathrooms (my understanding is that there are bathrooms upstairs by the deck too), lounge rooms perfect to get ready or host smaller groups. Very easy going, the manager, Brian, will also make your renting experience very pleasant. We had no problems whatsoever, everything was a breeze, and the entire experience was amazing. We'll definitely be back, thank you Brian!


Perfect Wedding Venue, An Eventective User from Bothell, WA

This is a great event space. Don't be fooled by the non-descript exterior.........once inside, it's awesome. We had our daughter's wedding and reception there last weekend, with about 110 people there, and it was perfect - it had that rustic, lofty feel to it that they loved. The rooftop deck was great for the cocktail hour, with a good portion of it under cover for our often drizzly Seattle weather. The main rooms were wonderful for the ceremony, then for dinner & dancing later. They have a great sound system, which our DJ thought was great, as well as a great professional kitchen, which was wonderful for our caterer. They've recently done some remodeling, adding a bathroom on the upstairs roof deck, as well as enlarging one of the downstairs bathrooms, and adding a wonderful new room, The Gallery, which was finished about 2 weeks before our daughter's wedding. In hindsight, our only regret is that we didn't take them up on their offer of use of The Gallery for about 1/2 the normal price, since we already had booked the space. That room would have been perfect for either the ceremony space, or the dinner space - it's a beautiful room with exposed brick, huge high ceilings, rustic wood beam floors. I'd definitely use that room if we had to do it all over again! Brian, the space manager, was wonderful to work with, very flexible and professional. Some of the artwork on the walls didn't necessarily scream wedding, and he had no problem with removing any of it for the wedding. All in all, a wonderful event space, particularly for those who like either a rustic or an industrial feel to the space. We highly recommend it!

WithinSodo was the perfect place for my husbands retirement party. We wanted something unique and fun and this is it. Our guests loved it and so did we.


Fantastic party venue!, An Eventective User from Seattle, Wa

Seriously, this place is fantastic. Just hosted a 60th birthday party here for the young at heart. One room was set up for food, bar, band, dance floor and cocktail lounge feel. A 2nd room had furniture arranged for more relaxed visiting. The venue is roomy with high wood ceilings, mix of wood and brick walls, cement floor. Overall, a bit of edgy/industrial that warms right up with the great lighting and a few candles. It worked perfectly for our purposes, and guests could not say enough about how much they loved the space. Brian, the manager, was easy to work with and readily available for viewings, questions, even last minute changes. I want to have another party here!


Exceptional Auction Venue, An Eventective User from Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project

WithinSodo was the perfect place for our annual fundraising auction. It had multiple spaces, an amazing catering kitchen, a gorgeous rooftop deck with a killer view and ample evening parking. Brian, the site manager was easy to work with and the venue had so much to offer in the way of amenities. WithinSodo is a south Seattle gem!


Seattle's best kept secret!!, An Eventective User from Kirkland, WA

I found this venue online for my friend's wedding reception for 08/13/11. We needed it to be near downtown Seattle as a central meeting place but away from the hustle-n-bustle. From first glance, the price got me curious. But it was the venue pictures that drew me in. Believe me when I say, the place looks even better than the pictures! The owner, Ben Abrams, and manager, Brian DeWaide were so accommodating. Ben with customizing our contract, and Brian throughout the whole process of before/during/after the event. Our event was set up for about 150 people, but only half that amount showed up. There was ample parking and it was easy for our bartender and catering service to set up. There never was a line for the bathroom since there were 2. And the whole flow of the building created a very comforting atmosphere, despite it being a really big space. The HD sound system/projector were awesome, no glitches at all! Everyone loved the venue, and I will definitely keep it in mind for one of my own future events. The way it was designed, it seems like it fits perfectly for a big cocktail party, but with all the functionality that comes with it, I'd use it for any event, large or small.

With both events I was able to not only impress my guests with this out of the box event space, but I was also able to bring an extra element of creativity to what would otherwise have been a typical event format.
