Rev. Byron is wonderful. He sent me the Commonwealth of Virginia memo stating that remote Weddings thru Virginia are indeed legal. He is a lifesaver for couples in Roanoke City and Roanoke County. All the other Officiants are normally $350-$1000 for a five minute ceremony. Rev. Byron allows you to have all your guests either inperson or remotely, performs a beautiful ceremony , and only charges $100. We are so glad he is now doing all the Roanoke area civil ceremonies. When inquiring about Zoom and Phone Weddings in Virginia, we talked to numerous people in Utah who told us that we had to get the marriage license thru Utah since remote marriages are not legal in Virginia. We checked with our Attorney who told us it is the other way around. If the couple is in a Virginia at the time of the ceremony, they must have a Virginia Marriage License and a Virginia Court Authorized Officiant. The situation in also complicated by Virginia Courts telling couples that they have to be with the Officiant at the time of the Wedding for it to be legal when the Virginia Attorney General says the parties can be in three different locations as long as the ceremony is in Virginia. A memo from Virginia DOC which quotes the Virginia Attorney General confirms this as accurate. We are so glad we got the facts and Rev. A great thanks to Rev. Byron for clarifying the law on remote and zoom weddings in DC, UT, and VA. After speaking to Rev. Byron he explained to us that the DC Zoom Weddings Law was only temporary, and since COVID is over, that law is no longer in effect. He also told us about the Utah law. Many Utah Officiants regularity tell Virginia Residents that they can only have a Zoom Wedding thru Utah if you they live in Virginia. Rev. Byron showed us the memo that said that remote weddings (zoom and phone) have always been legal in Virginia with a Virginia Marriage License and Virginia Officiant. Furthermore, if your ceremony is performed in Virginia, you must have a Virginia Marriage License and Virginia Officiant. Consequently, numerous Virginia brides and grooms who got Utah Marriage Licenses and had a ceremony performed in Virginia with a Utah Officiant, were informed by Virginia that they were not really married because they are subject to Virginia Law and they had to get remarried according to Virginia Law. We are so glad we spoke to Rev. Byron who explained to us that if we are married in Virginia, we have to have a Virginia Marriage License and Virginia Court Authorized Officiant There is so much fraudulent information online about Utah Zoom Weddings for Virginia Couples'. Virginia does not accept Marriages performed in Virginia without a Virginia Court Authorized Officiant and a Virginia Marriage License. When Virginia entities were informed that a Virginia Couple was married in Virginia with a Utah Marriage License and it was performed by an Officiant not Authorized in Virginia, these entities informed the Couple that their marriage was not valid, and they should have obtained a Virginia Marriage License and be married by a Virginia Authorized Officiant. The Virginia Attorney General issued a memo back in 2020 that allows phone or Zoom Weddings with the Officiant and the two parties being in three separate locations as long as the ceremony is performed in Virginia. Virginia Wedding Because of Federal Shutdown — An Eventective User from Washington, DC

Thanks so much to Rev. Byron for helping to get us married today. With the Federal Shutdown, our DC Courthouse Wedding was canceled so we called Rev. Byron and we got the marriage license in Virginia and one of his Ministers performed our ceremony in Alexandria. All of our guests came over to Alexandria for the ceremony. We forgot the DC Courthouse was closed because of the Federal Shutdown! When we called Rev. Byron he sent us to the Alexandria, VA Courthouse and we got the marriage license very quickly, so now we are going to do a Saturday wedding in Alexandria performed by one of the Associates of Rev. We are so glad we talked to Rev. Byron after we found out that DC stopped zoom marriages, and if they are busy you want get the marriage license the same day. Rev. A Great Thanks to Rev. Byron for his expertise in knowing the law and making sure every couple is legally married in the State where their Marriage Ceremony is performed. We contacted Rev. Byron after some friends fell for the Utah Zoom Wedding Scam. They read so much misinformation online and thought they had to do a Virginia Zoom Wedding thru Utah because they were told by a Utah Minister that Zoom Weddings were not legal in Virginia. When Virginia found out about the Utah Marriage in Virginia they informed the couple that they were not legally married since Virginia Law requires that a Virginia Marriage License be obtained and a Virginia Court Authorized Officiant be utilized to perform the Ceremony for all marriages including Zoom and Phone Weddings in which the couple is in Virginia at the time of the Ceremony. They were also told that the Full Faith and Credit Clause of the Constitution does not apply to them since ONLY a legal marriage in one State has to be accepted in all other States. We had an emergency involving a family illness and could not leave the family member who had a stroke. My wedding was scheduled the next day and we could not reschedule it since so many family members and Friends were coming in to town. I called several courts who told us that all parties have to be together and we could just cancel the Wedding. I then spoke to Rev. Byron who emailed the memo stated by the Virginia Attorney General that all three parties can be in three different locations, as long as one of the parties to the marriage is in Virginia for the ceremony.
