As a theatre company Dutch Apple does an excellent job. The singers/dancers/actors performed well above what I'd expect for something put on outside in a non-theatre town. The venue is a bit cramped, but still comfortable. The wait-staff was very attentive. The true disappointment at Dutch Apple (and always has been) is the buffet. While some might say they go for the show, I will argue that as long as it is a "Dinner Theatre" I'm going for dinner and a show. The selection of food was completely lacking, there are two buffets, both crammed into a small area to the one side of the theater. There was a choice of two meats, two starches and two vegetables. The meat choices today were Ham and Turkey - as someone who dislikes turkey, I was looking forward to the ham. It was a processed ham, mass-prepared in a raisin sauce (yuck!). There was more variety on the dessert table than the hot food bar. The quality of desserts was only slightly better than the hot-food. The shame is that the theatre has been around for 20+ years and this has always been their weakness - and yet they've made no improvements even though the business remains owned by the same family (the son of the original owners is now listed as the executive producer).
