Nestled in the heart of Amish country, amid the rolling hills of Southwestern Indiana, you will find 3 Fat Labs Bed & Breakfast.Built in 2012, this charming, handcrafted country home is the newest B & B in Putnam County and by comparison is “the fairest of them all”. Secluded on 26 wooded acres, we provide the warmth and comfort of a private home along with the convenience of a new, state-of-the-art facility.
Offering overnight guests a choice of rooms – each named to honor one of our dear “furry” family members – 3 Fat Labs can sleep 2 to 4 guests in most rooms, for a total of up to 16 guests. A delectable “hot breakfast” (No MSG) is provided each morning.
3 Fat Labs is an exquisite setting for wedding or commitment ceremonies, receptions, anniversary or birthday parties, bridal or baby showers, retreats, family reunions, or for anyone looking for a personal retreat. Wedding/commitment ceremonies may be held outdoors in any number of picturesque locations, the favorite being our lovely gazebo. Smaller events may be held indoors and can accommodate up to 25 guests. Our gourmet kitchen is available for use by catering services. Larger events, hosting up to 250 guests, may be held in the Pavilion – due for completion early spring, 2015. Catering facilities near the Pavilion are scheduled for an early spring, 2015 completion as well.
So relax, pull up a chair on our long, country porch – put up your feet and day-dream the hours away, while sipping iced tea and snacking on homemade ginger cookies. Get lost on one of our many meandering trails, or take a short stroll over to the shores of Big Walnut Creek. Take off your shoes and wade in the shallow, cool water. Bring your “sweetie” along and steel a “peck” on the Okalla Bridge – one of Parke County’s 31 covered “kissing bridges”.
If you don’t mind a short drive, visit the breath-taking Cataract Falls or the stunningly beautiful trails of Turkey Run State Park. For those who enjoy the quiet and seclusion mixed with a bit of excitement, visit down-town Greencastle or the grounds and halls of DePauw University, Not enough? Then why not visit the sights and sounds of Terre Haute or Indianapolis – home of the Indianapolis Speedway and the Indy 500 – each just under an hour away.
So if you are planning that “Special Day” of joining your life with another, or planning any other celebration of life, we invite you to come celebrate it with us…
You’re sure to be greeted by three “pleasantly plump” Labs!
