""My Wedding Experience @ the Crowne Plaza"", An Eventective User from Austin, TX (She is from Chicago)

I was highly impressed with this venue for a wedding. The price was a little steep with all the amenities that we purchased (roughly $15,000), but the staff and amenities were incredible! There is a beautiful area for photos and a spacious ballroom for the host party. Best of all, everything is centralized. We had a large wedding (about 350 people) and there wasn't one time during the evening that we felt crammed or didn't have enough space, etc. If you're looking to spend under $10k for a wedding, I would NOT recommend this venue. The basic costs for wait staff, hotel arrangements for the wedding party, and reservations for the ballrooms and wedding chapel slightly exceeded that budget. We did everything else on the dime, but the venue was very important to my wife. Needless to say, we were very pleased!!

My experience with this wedding venue could not have been better. The management and staff were very helpful in accommodating all of our requests. They made sure than the procession was carried out exactly how my wife and I wanted. The venue was very tasteful and a perfect environment for our wedding. We did not encounter any difficulties or problems with planning our wedding and the Crowne Plaza staff made sure that everything ran smoothly and elegantly. I would defiantly recommend this venue for any couple who is looking for a place for there wedding, as i feel it is by far the best.

When my company was planning a yearly meeting/conference, they said that they wanted a venue that was both trendy and classy as well as having a hotel nearby for our guest to stay at. My boss spoke to me and my coworkers at a meeting and said that they had decided upon either the Crowne Plaza Chicago Metro or the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. It was finally decided that the meeting would be held at the Crowne Plaza due to the lack of availability at the Hyatt Regency. The meeting room was very spacious and had high tech equipment that was used for teleconferencing. I was also impressed that the quality of the 24 hour business center of the hotel. The hotel workers were very consecrate as well and extremely helpful. They directed each worker to the meeting room and asked if we needed them to bring anything for the meeting. After the first meeting, our went to the front desk to check into the rooms. Although overwhelming to the front desk worker (having to check in about 35 people in a row) they were very efficient and worked quickly to ensure we were checked in and given our room keys. Later that night we held a banquet in one of the larger event rooms which was decorated very nicely. The hotel staff helped to make sure that guests who had not stayed at the hotel were able to find the room without any problems. All in all I was very impressed at the hotel and the staff as well, I would recommend utilizing the meeting rooms as they have amenities which are extremely helpful and efficient.

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza this past weekend and it far exceeded my expectations. I had driven by the place a million times and it never seemed all that nice from the outside, but all of the renovations they did a few years ago have really done wonders for the interior. The only downside is that they didn't have any rooms with king-sized beds available and I had to settle for 2 double beds. Beyond that and a few burned out light bulbs, everything was great. The decor was much more modern than other Crownes I've stayed at before. They provide every room with what I guess you would call sleep accessories: eye mask, ear plugs, sleep CD, and aromatherapy linen spray. I guess they really want to make sure you're knocked out. I ended up not needing to use any of them because I was really tired and the beds are comfortable enough on their own, but it's nice to know they care. The location isn't the greatest as far as things to do except for Greektown, but you're right off the expressway and close to the Loop so it's convenient to get pretty much anywhere in the city.

Stayed here this past weekend. The renovations look great. Desk staff was not excellent, but were friendly. Had two doubles on the 4th floor. Balcony was nice but keep in mind the freeway is right outside and was too loud to be outside during anytime of the day. Bathroom was beautiful - great shower head. Very clean, friendly housekeeping staff, and great location near the loop. Rates affordable on a busy convention weekend in Chicago. Dominick's grocery just across the street. The bell staff weren't super friendly. After loading our cart, the bellman walked away. We checked in and waited for him to come back in. He didn't, so I grabbed the cart to go to the elevator and the desk agent stopped me and explained that because I asked him to help, he had to take it up for me. She had to radio him in to help us up.

I was just recently got married at The Crown Plaza in Chicago, and I have to say that I am impressed. This is my first (and hopefully only!) marriage so I was clueless about the entire process of having a wedding. I must admit that I was a little intimidated by the whole process. One of the main reasons that I liked the Crown Plaza is that they had free wedding consultation that came with our wedding package. It was great. We got to sit down with an event planner that knew what they were doing and discuss what we wanted in our wedding. The planner was able to recommend local florists and DJ's as well. The food was also included in the package and it was outstanding. I didn't have to worry about the alcohol either, as it was included as well. The facilities themselves can be described as classy. The reception hall that we rented was fantastic and I was really proud to have my wedding there. They had white glove butler service throughout the entire wedding, which added to the great atmosphere. We stayed there that night and the bridal suite was amazing and was also very classy. The views of the skyline were breathtaking. The area that the Crown Plaza is located in is also very close to the famous Magnificent Mile, which is known for it's high end shopping. Overall, I would give the Crown Plaza in Chicago an "A" for service and for value.

The Crowne Plaza meeting venue located at the Crowne Plaza hotel in downtown Chicago, Illinois is one of the best venues for a conference that I have had the pleasure of booking. As an event planner for several large corporations, I am used to booking elegant and corporate suites for various activities. Booking the Crowne Plaza Hotel was fairly simple. Rooms can be reserved online and there are various tabs to help figure out amenities as well as special features. This was very helpful. Aside from all the normal amenities of a hotel, which your guests will approve of due to the great accommodation, the hotel also offers event catering for your meeting, wireless internet, and various types of equipment for the meeting. One downfall, though, is that the audiovisual equipment is not up to par. I had trouble getting the equipment to work with my MAC computer and did not approve of the dated amenities. On the plus side, the staff was great. They were all friendly and welcoming. From the doorman to the front desk, guests of the hotel and of the conference rooms are taken care of and safely helped. Also, the staff that helped to provide the food for our meeting was fantastic. They kept the food hot and ready, even though our meeting ran over by about an hour. Another downfall, though, is that the Crowne Plaza hotel is in high demand, and it is difficult to book on short notice. Furthermore, it is quite expensive due to its great location and elegant decor. Finally, there are not a wide variety of conference and meeting rooms to choose from. As opposed to having an auditorium for lectures, the hotel cannot stack up and can only provide either a large conference room without the comfort of a lecture hall or a ballroom that is highly unprofessional for a lectured meeting.

Last month one of my friend's elder brother had hosted his reception at the Crowne Plaza in Chicago. I was invited and went along with my friend for the reception. The decorations were so beautiful. Crowne Plaza is the perfect place to host a wedding or a reception. The staff knows what they are doing and they focus on each and every detail while organizing the occasion. They have an extensive catering menu in the first place. They make sure they serve a variety of dishes to the guests so that they leave the place happy and satisfied. The ballroom where the reception was hosted could take approximately 300 people which was enough for the number of guests that showed up. They make sure each and every member of their staff wears a pair of gloves in order to keep everything neat and clean which, according to me, was very impressive. Along with these benefits, they also offer complementary wedding consultation and make sure they recommend the most reliable florists, DJ and photographer. Overall it was a good event hosted by my friend's family and turned out to be a successful event. I would personally recommend this place for a wedding or reception.

I recently held my wedding reception in the grand ballroom at the Crowne Plaza. The venue is beautiful! The wedding package included everything I wanted for my wedding and more. The staff was friendly and professional and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable for myself, my spouse, and all of our friends and family. The package offered a three course meal with several delicious options, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed by the guests. The Crowne Plaza also offered recommendations for florists, photographers, and music options allowing an easy selection. I cannot express how pleased I am with this venue.

The Crowne Plaza is a hotel located in downtown Chicago which i would highly recommend as a meeting venue. Public transportation is offered in the area, the scenery around the venue is great, and it is in a very accessible location, making it is easy to find. The venue itself has many rooms for meetings of various occasions including business, social, or corporate. The employees at the venue are very helpful and polite. The atmosphere inside of the hotel is good as well. It is very clean and elegant. I would say it is even ideal for more formal events as well as meetings. If the meeting is for a really large number of people I might recommend looking into another venue. Individual rooms can be expanded by taking down the mobile walls but still would probably not be ideal for anymore than about 250-300 people. If the meeting is on a smaller scale it may be bothersome to have someone conducting a meeting in a neighboring room because the movable walls are not sound proof by any means and you can sometimes here the people in the neighboring room depending on their volume level. My previous experience was involving a business meeting for about 100-150 people and everyone was very pleased with the services the venue offered. The only negative aspect of my experience would probably be parking because parking at the actual venue is limited due to its location. Despite this fact the area offers many parking garages in which you can pay to park for the day for various amounts. Though I have heard they offer a free parking package.

I couldn't have been more dazzled by the luxurious and modern decoration of the rooms and meeting rooms. It was a very high-fashion hotel experience. We used this hotel as the "preferred" hotel for guests traveling to Chicago for my wedding. Our friends and family occupied 19 rooms. Length of stay varied from 1 to 4 nights. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and most important to me, the hotel hallways were generally quiet. Amazing, since there were at least 3 other weddings in the hotel that weekend. The staff, from the front desk clerks to the parking attendants, were courteous, friendly, and helpful. Not one complaint from any of our guests! A good mid-priced hotel in a terrific city!

The Crowne Plaza was the greatest! It's in a convenient location for it being in the city. People there are very friendly, attend to your every need, and you feel great! I would definitely recommend anyone and everyone needing a "meeting venue" here in Chicago or nearby. It's a great place and I can guarantee that you will LOVE it! Sure there might be a few things here and there that certain people may not like about it. But that's a matter of opinion and everyone's is completely different. Opinion's are what makes the world go round! But if you are anything like me then you won't have a thing bad to say about The Crowne Plaza!! If you aren't into big crowds or big cities then it might not be for you. That also means Chicago is most definitely not for you. I personally like big cities for the most part. There are plenty of options out there for meeting venues, and you can search all day and night, for months or years to come! But....I'm telling you! The Crowne Plaza is where it's at and you won't be disappointed. So tell all your friends and family! This is definitely what you want to choose so choose wisely!

The service was exceptional and the building itself was just beautiful.The venue is located near the Magnificent mile, which is great for shopping.The ball room itself can be rearranged to your liking, and with the help of a planner I had it set up perfectly to tailor to my needs.Your guests will get special room rates, they provide the decorations, and you receive a three course gourmet meal. I would recommend this to someone who doesn't mind paying a lot of money for a perfect reception. mine went smoothly thanks to the help of the friendly staff and the great service they provided us.

Choosing the Crown Plaza for my wedding was the best choice I made out of every deatil for my wedding. It was a one stop shop and I couldn have been more thrilled with the service that they provided. Everything was absolutley perfect and beyond what I expected. The freindly staff worked with me on every deatail from the photographer down to the flowers. They offered a full service catered menu offering great choices of prime cut beef, the best tasting chicken, and the prefectly cooked fish. They offered white glove butler service which was excellent. When my husband and i walked it it was even more than I dreamed of. The lighthing was prefect, the DJ the reccomended was even better than I could have dreamed of. The centerpieces I chose were perfectly placed on each table. I was really so happy with the whole outcome of the ceremony and reception. When it came time to cut the cake I was amazed by the way it looked on the table they set up. Every girl dreams of her fairytale wedding with her prince charming and I had mine at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. I can not thank them enough for the outstanding service they provided to us on our special day. Their staff is friendly, the hotel is gorgeuos inside and out. I was married there 3 years ago and I still race about it to friends and family. I highly reccomend them to anybody looking for their dream wedding. You will not by any means be dissapointed. I know i sure was not!
