Prior to deciding to get married on my in-laws’ rural property in Marshville, NC, my husband and I had no idea how much more would be involved in planning a wedding specifically due to the location. Upon reading numerous articles on outdoor weddings (not to mention outdoor weddings on private property), it became apparent that restroom accommodations for guests would be needed. Originally, I planned on renting a bathroom trailer to “posh” up the event (I was willing to go outside of our wedding budget for them!), but my in-laws excitedly shared that they took care of the porta potties for us. While greatly appreciative, my insides started to panic in a bridezilla fashion. My husband and I quickly took to Pinterest to research ways to make porta potties… not look like porta potties. Somewhere along the line I came across A Prettier Potty and all anxiety was gone. Patti was wonderful to work with and incredibly flexible when I had a last-minute change in porta potty type (changed from a standard porta potty to one with a sink and running water). Her install crew were equally great to work with and did a fabulous job. My vendors marveled at the covers - they had never seen anything like them. In fact, my caterer spent a decent amount of time prior to the wedding worrying about where to hide the porta potties (in their original form) from view. It wasn’t long after that I started sharing A Prettier Potty’s information to vendors requesting it for their upcoming events - including our caterer. While something seemingly so minimal, it really made a difference in our bathroom area. Even guests (including the VP of an international company) commented how, in addition to the flowers that decorated the insides of the porta potties and the selection of toiletries provided in the “freshening up area,” they had never seen porta potties so fancy and comfortable.
