A mix of old a new - the Gardner Museum opened in 1903, modeled after a 15th century venetian palace with an enclosed blooming courtyard and three floors of galleries displaying work by: Titan, Zorn, Sargent, Rembrandt, just to name a few. In addition, the Gardner opened its new contemporary building adjoined to the original building in 2012. Designed by Renzo Piano, the New Wing includes: modern event spaces, special exhibition gallery and a beautiful concert hall that seats up to 300.
