About Chart House Boston
The four-story Gardiner Building, which now houses the Chart House, was built around 1763 and served as office to Thomas Hancock and, subsequently, his nephew John Hancock. Often referred to as “Hancock’s Counting House,” it is the oldest building on Long Wharf. The Boston Chart House, which opened in July 1973, continues to maintain this ideal. Guests will note many original fixtures such as Hancock’s safe, broad wooden beams, floors, staircase, and red brick walls. For an experience you and your guests will never forget, Chart House is the perfect choice in Boston for your next private dining event. Our entire facility is a trip back in time, as you and your guests will dine in the halls once walked by American Patriot John Hancock. We offer five unique room options, with the ability to accommodate parties of any size. Your guests will be treated to one of our many customized dining events, ranging from luncheon buffets to seated four-course dinners. With complimentary valet parking and an extensive wine list, why would you choose anywhere else? From wedding rehearsals and receptions, to company functions, we are prepared to make your special event unforgettable.
