Congress Plaza Hotel

Congress Plaza Hotel, Chicago — One of the most warm and enchanting rooms within the Congress Plaza Hotel property is also one of our signature spaces. The Gold Room is an architectural gem originally built between 1902 and 1907 during the construction of the South Tower of the hotel.

Long considered one of the most magnificent banquet rooms in America, the Gold Room was restored in 1997 to its original splendor by Italian artist Lido Lippi, known for his work in the Sistine Chapel restoration. Through these efforts, this sought-after space retains its lush, grand atmosphere making it the perfect choice for any formal or elegant event.

I went to a friend's wedding at this location and it was fabulous. It almost feels like you are in a grand cathedral in France. The artwork was amazing and the location was perfect. There was enough seating for the 200 plus people that were there and the food was fantastic. I'm not sure where it was from, but it was cooked exceptionally well. The staff at the hotel were so helpful and they made sure that every step of the way was taken care of. My friend was recommended to this hotel from another friend who also loved it. She was a little nervous about taking a recommendation from this girl, but when she walked in, she fell in love. The price was a little steep, but it was so well worth it. I would love to have my own wedding there!!

"Great Wedding Venue", An Eventective User from Chicago, IL
Our experience with The Congress Plaza Hotel was wonderful. They really seemed to care about our wants and needs. We talked to other venues and we were treated like we were just business. At The Congress Plaza Hotel we were treated like we were friends of the company. They made us feel very special. They worked with us to create the perfect style of decorations that fit our personalities the best. They would put their input in but made it feel like it was just an idea. They did not make us feel like they were pushing their ideas onto us. They let us make the decisions without any hassle. The venue was absolutely beautiful. It was like a dream come true. They did such a wonderful job in setting up. The food that was catered in was delicious. The staff was extremely friendly, both before the reception, during the reception and after words too. They really did make things easy for us. We would recommend this venue to anyone getting married, or anyone who was having a reception from an important event in their life.
