"Artistic Elegance", An Eventective User from Chicago, IL
Designed by Renzo Piano, the modern wing of the Art Institute of Chicago is generally considered one of the worlds premier collections of modern art by art critics. But atop this modern marvel, my wife and I would argue, the rooftop terrace rivals even the most prized Warhol painting inside, offering the most unobstructed views of downtown and Lake Michigan that Chicago has to offer. The dramatic backdrop of the Chicago skyline and the vibrant greenery of Millenium Park, set the mood for our big day. The larger than life silhouette and hustle and bustle below offered our guests a peek into our larger than life future as a young couple settling down in the Windy City. Initially concerned by the steep price of the venue, when we kissed, my doubts were put to rest. As guests descended upon the concession area following the ceremony, it was clear we had turned more than a few heads, the general feeling amongst them was an overwhelming joy and a disbelief that such a magical setting for a wedding could exist. It continues to be the wedding by which all our friends and family members compare their own weddings.
