"Unique Meeting Venue Experience", An Eventective User from Chicago, IL
One of the most unique experiences I have had for a business meeting was a lunch cruise aboard the Odyssey. The skyline in Chicago is one of the greatest in the world and being able to view it from the water was a great experience. The food was wonderful and the service was outstanding. The boat was very large and very accommodating. You arrive at Navy Pier which is an attraction in itself and board the ship there. From then on our bosses were allowed to address the staff and go over what needed to be discussed. From there lunch was served, they have a great selection even on the lunch menu of a first, main, and dessert course. Everything was prepared quickly and properly. After eating we were free to walk around the boat and take in the skyline from the observation decks. Throughout the voyage there was wonderful classic music just right on the volume level. All in all, a very classy affair that I couldn't have asked more from. I believe the Odyssey is the most elegant of their fleet of boats so it is a little pricier. This meeting was more of a thank you to the staff so it was fitting. They also have a boat named the Mystic Blue that is a more value that I also recommend, although I had taken that on a personal dinner cruise. I think it would really depend on the meeting but I could see going a lot of different ways with it. As long as it isn't a numbers meeting I think this venue would work quite well.

"Chicago Wedding and Reception", An Eventective User from Indianhead Park, IL
Our fall wedding took place in the Rose Garden at Grant Park. It was gorgeous! Since we had a small wedding party, it was very inexpensive, too. We didn't have to pay for chairs to rent or leave a deposit for grass repair. The photos the photographer was able to capture were amazing! The roses were still in bloom at the end of September, so it made for elegant photos. We also decided, since we were having a wedding outdoors, we would have a butterfly release. There were many children at our wedding, and they enjoyed the butterflies as well. Everyone thought that the butterflies would immediately fly away, but they didn't! They loved the roses!! This made for more great photos! Also located near the Rose Garden, is Buckingham Fountain. Everyone was able to make a wonderful day out of all the beauty the park hosted. We made sure there was some time for everyone to mill around inbetween the ceremony and the reception. After our lovely ceremony at the Rose Garden, our reception was held aboard the Odyssey Cruise Line. Everything was fantastic!!! Our cake came from a bakery in the 'burbs, and the Odyssey members made sure it arrived safely. The menu was great, the music was great, and the cruise was stellar!!! The city skyline was all lit up at night. Everyone enjoyed going to the top of the ship to watch the waves, and the city sail past. Our wedding celebration was amazing to say the least. We highly recommend both places for a celebration of love, family and friends!
