The best meeting place and conference center that I have ever been to was the Center for Rural Development located in Somerset, Kentucky. This social center was initially funded by earmarks received by United States Representative Harold Rogers. It is located in the middle of Somerset's shopping area, and is close to department stores, restaurants, and the majority of other attractions in this city. There is more than ample parking, including loading docks. The greenery surrounding the Center's campus is well-kept, and works well for group photos. At this venue, I have attended gun shows, pageants, information fairs, concerts, dance recitals, and high school band clinics. It contains an auditorium that seats around one thousand audience members. There is a balcony that overreaches the lower audience level that seats about fifty audience members. The acoustics in this auditorium are perfect for a number of purposes: vocal, instrumental, etc. The Center for Rural Development has other rooms that are built to suit any needs of an organization, business, or individual. In my personal experiences, the staff at the Center for Rural Development are extremely accommodating. The secretaries are active workers during the planning of your event, and also are more than willing to help out during and after the event. The cost to host an event is relatively cheap, depending on the duration of your event. I cannot recommend the Center enough to those who want to host an event in an extremely nice facility with an equally extremely nice staff.
