About Captain Avery Museum

Rustic elegance - waterfront historic setting. Home of Captain Salem Avery built in 1859 on the West River. The Captain Avery Museum has been an operating Not-for-profit here for 30 years serving the Shady Side community. We have a great room (capacity 60-100 people for an event), catering kitchen, bridal retreat, front porch facing the water and lovely grounds with a rain garden where a tent can be erected for entertaining.
