I went there for City Club of Chicago meeting that they hold I believe on a monthly basis, it was downtown - easy location, convenient, prompt food service by the catering of Maggiano's. They have a stage with a podium on it for the speakers. It is a large venue that can hold several hundred people. The dress code is generally business professional at this venue and it seems appropriate for a meeting venue. The food quality is good for a large catered event, and the staff and servicers are very professional, quiet, and quick to help serve the patrons.
Maggiano's is a great place for a reception.

I My wife and I got married a little over a month ago and everything could not have gone any better. The service was great, all of the guests arrived safely and on time, and the reception was wonderful. We chose to have our wedding reception at Maggiano's Italian restaurant in Shaumburg, IL as it was close to the hotel that all of our guests were staying at and after negotiating with a number of other venues in the area they seemed to be the most flexible and willing to accommodate what we envisioned for our wedding reception. Maggiano's was not the least expensive venue that we looked at but it definitely presented the best value of any venue that we considered.
Maggiano's in Shaumburg has an absolutely gorgeous banquet hall that will easily accommodate a very large group of people. We had over two hundred guest at our wedding reception and it very comfortably handled our event. The banquet hall is very classically elegant, think classic upscale Chicago steak house lined with wood panel walls and brass light fixtures. The room has a large dance floor and two good sized bars that kept the drinks flowing. The staff was extremely friendly and professional, the food was top notch, and bar was well stocked and location was perfect all in all I could not have asked for more from my wedding reception venue. I am extremely satisfied with the experience that Maggiano's help create and would highly recommend you consider it for your wedding reception.
