Strange's has been in Richmond for many years, and its tradition of excellence continues on many levels - Long-lasting arrangements, supurb customer service, timely delivery. My family uses this florist (as do several businesses I know) and we have never been disappointed. Recently, a co-worker passed away, and without being called, Strange's delivered a lovely, fragrant bouquet to the office as a gift and with their condolences. As people, the Strange's management & staff really do care about their product and their customers. Whatever the occasion, they can recommend and create an appropriate centerpiece or arrangement - and they also have potted plants avaiable, as the seasons dictate.
When you walk into Strange’s Florists, you feel like you’ve entered Disneyland for flower lovers. Even if you are not someone who knows much about floral arrangements, you can’t help but be impressed with their large showroom area, greenhouse and other sales spaces. I had been coming to Strange’s for several years to purchase decorative plants and vegetable plants for my home, but I recently was asked to purchase table arrangements for a dinner that my organization was holding for some influential and out-of-town vendors. My instructions were to arrange to have 14 centerpieces designed to match specific fabric swatches which were going to be unveiled for the upcoming fall season. When I explained what I was looking for, the floral designer knew exactly what type of flowers would work for the type of dinner and décor that was planned. Since the dinner was going to be held and catered in our corporate offices, there was a lot of flexibility. We ended up deciding on a modern, spiraling centerpiece consisting of Birds of Paradise, a variety of orchid dendobrium, emerald ferns, carnations, delphiniums and one other leafy green that tied the entire design together. Strange’s kept in close contact with me as they were making the pieces, even sending me photos as they were being designed. They were beautiful! They were delivered on time and in perfect condition and looked absolutely stunning on the tables. Some of our guests took the centerpieces home, while the rest of them remained in the office for the rest of the week. The flowers were hearty and healthy and looked good for about a week beyond the event, so we really got our money’s worth. Strange’s is a pleasure to work with. They are professional, helpful and quickly understand your needs. Plus, their prices are reasonable. Everything that you would want in a florist for your next event.
