We were looking for a unique spot for our wedding rehearsal dinner, and the City of Raleigh Museum exceeded all of our expectations. It was the perfect size for our approximately 60 out-of-town guests, allowing everyone to mingle comfortably. The atmosphere was so much fun; instead of a stuffy restaurant, our friends and family were able to explore the exhibits, which made for great conversation starters. The logistics were seamless. Our contact at the museum, Lynda, was incredibly kind, communicative, and helpful with every step of the planning. The sound system was excellent for playing music, and we were able to use their projector and screen to share a slideshow, which was a highlight of the evening for many. If you are looking for a memorable and one-of-a-kind venue in downtown Raleigh, we highly recommend the City of Raleigh Museum. It is a true gem and we are so glad we chose it!

We hosted the Sanderson High School retirement dinner on June 5th, and it was amazing! The staff at CORM went above and beyond to make this event memorable. They were easy to work with and made sure we had everything we needed. Their communication was excellent. They let us bring things early to store in the basement which helped out greatly as it was raining heavily on the day of the event, so having the bulk of our decorations and stuff already there helped us avoid a very soggy load-in. I would highly recommend this space for your event as it is fun and different as well as a no-hassle/stress because of the wonderful staff. Shout out to Lynda for all she did to make our retirement dinner phenomenal!

A Successful Networking Event — An Eventective User from Durham, NC

Lynda and her team did everything possible to make the university networking event and panel they hosted here a success. All of the staff were lovely. The kitchenette that adjoins the downstairs classroom was a helpful space to have as we could store lunches there. The projector was easy to use. Coordination and setup in the weeks prior to the event were a breeze and the room was set up just as we had requested before we arrived. Lynda is detailed, thorough, extremely thoughtful, and cares that people have a positive experience in this museum's event space. We would happily bring our Masters students here again.

We recently held our third annual International Women's Leadership Summit at the City of Raleigh Museum. This is the third time we've chosen this venue because the space is gorgeous and the staff makes it so easy! From the initial consultation where you choose your space layout, to the day of details, Lynda and her team have your peace of mind prioritized. They work well with outside catering, and the space lends itself well to all types of events - especially corporate. The staff handles set up, clean up, audio/visual, etc. all while keeping a smile on their faces. The location of the venue is very convenient, and the street parking and nearby deck parking make it very accessible. COR was an ideal venue for our event. The costs are very reasonable, and the event coordinator, Lynda, did an outstanding job of communicating with us throughout the process from the initial contact until our event was complete. THANK YOU so much to all of the COR staff for your help, support, and communication throughout our effort to pull this event off for my wife’s birthday. The whole event was very successful. My wife enjoyed it thoroughly, and many of the guests commented on how smoothly it went and how they enjoyed the facility. I also need to give a huge shout out to Amaobi and Bren!! They were a great help and support during the event and, in my view, went above and beyond what they had to do for us. I will definitely come back again if we have another big event.

Great spot for our small training event — An Eventective User

We were looking for a small space in downtown Raleigh that didn't break the budget for a small training event we had that involved slides, a projector, and several classroom tables. There was even a kitchenette for use for our lunch. The classroom space downstairs was perfect for what we needed -- and Lynda was great to work with to set it up ahead of time. We'll definitely return to this space in the future!

An Engagement to brag about — An Eventective User

I recently has the privilege of getting engaged at the City of Raleigh Museum. My Fiancé and I met at NCSU and love learning about local history when we travel so I couldn't imagine a better spot to do it. To my surprise (after contacting a few other venues that symbolized other parts of our relationship) the rates were incredibly affordable, allowing for more budget to be allocated to decoration, dinner, and the ring. But don't take that as it being "cheap", the venue is incredibly well put together, feeling clean and professional. Further, working with Lynda was an absolute joy. Her depth of knowledge about the museum was impressive but more than that, her excitement and willingness to help in getting the event to happen was heartwarming and reassuring. Regardless of the event, I couldn't recommend City of Raleigh Museum more.

Don't even look anywhere else! — An Eventective User

We celebrated our 25th anniversary with a party with 100 guests at the City of Raleigh Museum. After reading all the positive reviews, we went to see the museum with Lynda Fuller, their event manager. We were hooked, and didn't even consider another venue. Lynda is absolutely superb at her job, giving us great guidance, helping us meet all deadlines, helping us keep our sanity, and setting us up for a fantastic evening. She offered lists of experienced vendors for all aspects, and helped us through all the paperwork and permitting required for the City of Raleigh and the ABC Board. The rental cost was super-reasonable, especially compared to holding the same event at a downtown hotel. The venue itself - the old Briggs Hardware Building - is a jewel, with nineteenth-century hardware floors and great delineated spaces that flow superbly from a welcoming front room, to a big dance room, to a room for catering service, thru to the back room for caterer prep. Lynda offered us huge flexibility, storing our alcohol and decor the day before and day after in the classroom downstairs. Nearly every day I hear from a friend or relative who attended, raving about the event and the venue. I wholeheartedly recommend the COR Museum and Lynda Fuller with absolutely zero reservations!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! The City of Raleigh Museum (COR Museum) staff went above and beyond our expectations, sharing valuable insight from their experience with previous wedding events. This made sure we had an amazing wedding in a venue that caught our guests off guard with how cool it was set-up. In short it's an intimate, fun, and unique venue with a staff that took care of us in every literal step through the wedding ceremony. We booked the whole museum for the Ceremony and Reception. Quick facts: • Need tables/chairs? The venue has the option for table/chair setup. • Planning on serving beer/wine? The staff will walk you through the process of applying for a license. • Need music? If you are willing to prepare your own music playlist, they have a full sound system and AV Projection kit available to rent for a fee. • Need a DJ/Caterer/Bartender? The staff has a contact list of non-affiliated vendors who can provide services for your wedding. • Large or small wedding? The venue is intimate, but can accommodate more than twice what we had (40 people) • Where do the groom/bride get ready? They have private spaces below the venue where the bride/groom can get ready separately. • Team Effort: the staff were dedicated to making this an unforgettable event. Schedule your first visit via email. You'll coordinate an in-person visit to lay-out your goals and begin the planning process. They have a calendar of availability and we fit perfectly 2 months away from the event. Yes, two months. We got lucky. The COR Museum has flexible options when it comes to how many hours you can rent the space, but keep in mind you'll need at-least 1 hour before and after to set-up/tear-down. For the next 8 weeks the COR Museum staff worked with us on everything we needed: seating arrangements, itinerary, wedding rehearsal, decorations, permits, etc. We had 40 people in our guest-list. they can accommodate more than twice as many people. We had more than enough space to have a dance floor, cocktail tables, and dining tables all setup at the same time. The team set-up chairs and tables based on a seating chart we created. We then set-up the decorations, the team lent a hand where needed. The day of the COR Museum team came through spectacularly. For us, it was a blur, but at every turn the team was there to coordinate next steps and make sure everything went according to plan. They surprised us with a private space below the museum where we were able to eat dinner quietly after the ceremony and before the party. They had a lot of little gestures like these that made our wedding extraordinary. We hope you pick the COR Museum, you will not regret it.

For starters, I highly recommend the City of Raleigh Museum for any and every event that you will ever have. I absolutely love this place! My search for a holiday party venue began in the summer of 2023 after our usual venue was no longer an option. I frantically contacted other venues but most were either unavailable on our set date or not exactly what I was looking for. I searched online over and over again until I stumbled upon the City of Raleigh Museum. The reviews were outstanding and all the fabulous comments about the rental manager completely drew me in. Well, all the raving about the venue and Lynda were exactly spot on. From beginning to end, Lynda helped with every detail. She was completely knowledgeable and helpful in every aspect with suggestions, diagrams, details, vendors, etc. All I had to do was pay because Lynda assisted with every thing else. Imagine just sitting back and not having to worry about where to find this or how to design that because of Lynda's expertise. She was always very responsive and available whenever I had questions; we even talked after hours to be sure that everything was in order. She went over and well beyond the call of duty during the planning, designing and execution of our party. Our employees and their families all raved about he location and how well everything came together. Lynda and was even there during set up and break down so any questions or items that we forgot were all taken care of. William G Hill Masonic Ladies Night — An Eventective User

Dinner party for members of our Masonic lodge, their dates and guests. We had a great time at the museum. With about 40 attendees, we had plenty of space for 7, 6-person round tables, plus rectangular tables for buffet, bar, dessert and silent auction stations. We only used about 60% of the space. The museum is a unique space because the exhibits along the walls help prompt conversation; and it's just a cool-looking space. They offer rental in different blocks of hours, We rented for 6 hours which was a perfect amount of time for a dinner. We began setup at 4:30p. Guests started arriving at 6. Dinner served at 7. Guests were leaving about 9:30. I chose to set up and break down tables/chairs myself. Rental ended at 10:30. Lynda and the team were very helpful in planning the space and navigating all of the setup, including the various types of liquor licenses to consider. They provide a list of Caterers. We decided on Ava's. The food was great. Prices excellent. And I didn't have to think at all about setup or tear-down of the buffet area. I recommend the COR Museum if looking for a unique space in the center of downtown Raleigh. Best, George Harter

We recently hosted a Bangladeshi Mehndi/Sangeet night here as part of a wedding weekend celebration. The City of Raleigh Museum is such a unique venue that lives in the heart of downtown Raleigh, making it central to lots of entertainment options. The event hosted was INCREDIBLE- in no small part because of Lynda, the event coordinator for CoR museum. Lynda was such a wonderful asset to have during the planning process- she is friendly, communicative, prompt and very insightful. It's clear she loves her job, but she also loves helping. She was available to chat over the phone whenever I needed, and was constantly making small quality of life suggestions that comes with years of experience. We hosted a 100 person event in the museum and not once did it feel crowded over overwhelming. Because the museum is just that- only the museum, we did have to hire a number of outside vendors to make the event possible, but the museum does have a great volume of chairs and tables that come with the rental. From my understanding, vendor set up and breakdown was relatively stress-free. The museum also works with you (Lynda does, at least!) to help facilitate larger windows for event drop-off. I would recommend you rent the classroom space in addition to the whole museum for larger events as having this space for storage was an indispensable addition. From the time you first meet, Lynda, you will see why City of Raleigh Museum is a great place to hold your event. We booked the museum for our wedding and could not be happier with the final result. You are in great hands at COR. This venue is so affordable and you will be treated first-class all the way. This venue is nontraditional but it has all the bells and whistles in place to make your event magical. With the full rental, you get the museum space, table, chairs, etc., etc. You get to use your choice of caterer, music, DJ, etc. We looked at much higher cost places and with COR, we were blown away by what you get for the price. Do not hesitate to book this venue-- you will absolutely love it. Treat your guests to this experience!

Great staff in charge of rentals! — An Eventective User

We had our 40th Anniversary event at CRM - I'd like to share specifically what an excellent job Lynda Fuller did with ALL aspects of our event. As a point person, she truly helped our organization make the event happen. It's actually hard to list all the ways she stepped in and made things work, but I will say that on the night of the event, I'm not sure what we would've done without her and her ability to answer questions on the fly. Personally, she also talked me through a few hiccups we had on our side. I just very much appreciate her and I'm sure all that work with her feel the same. I'd also like to give a shoutout to Neil Phipps for his help with connecting our computer to the screens before the event. He also was on the phone the night of the event talking me through an issue we had and was so kind and helpful. He walked me through several potential solutions and that was above and beyond what he needed to do. Alexis Tarley was also there the night of the event and she was also incredibly helpful when we needed a printout ASAP. She was calm, cool and collected and that was a tremendous help to me personally in a moment when I really needed that!! This was the first time BIANC has thrown an event like this so the assistance, kindness, patience, and professionalism meant more than they know!

We had an incredible time planning and attending a recent event we hosted at the City of Raleigh Museum. Lynda, the rental manager there, was extremely helpful, kind, and patient as we asked a million questions leading up to the event. She made wonderful recommendations as we were planning, too. She's clearly done this a time or two! The space was perfect and is so versatile. My vision for the event came to life and all of the guests had a great time. Several of them commented on the beauty of the venue, too! I very highly recommend this venue for any event - wedding, baby shower, birthday party, graduation party, etc. It was also so nice that it was located in the middle of downtown Raleigh - many of our out-of-town guests were able to book hotel rooms downtown and walk to/from the venue. Best venue ever! — An Eventective User

I recently held my vow renewal ceremony at the COR museum and I just have two words… blown away! To start, when I first entered the museum I was blown away by its beauty and historic atmosphere! The space is extremely large and with all of the exhibits displayed, we had to do very little to make the space look elegant and beautiful. The staff is absolutely amazing and I would do it again just for them! They were there every step of the way through my planning process, which was huge help for me as an overwhelmed bride. On the day of, every detail was handled, even down to ensuring my dress was perfect for my walk. The location of the museum, right in the middle of downtown urban atmosphere was the unexpected highlight of the evening! Our photos really benefited from the scenery and the people were amazing. Every time I stepped outside, I felt like a princess because of all the wonderful people giving myself and my wedding party compliments. Moral of the story: book your event here! You will be well taken care of and absolutely not regret it. I will definitely be using the museum as an event venue in the future!

Wonderful Place for a Retreat/Workshop!!! — An Eventective User

The staff and facility at the City of Raleigh Museum were AWESOME for our Fall Staff Retreat. A perfect room for a collaborative planning effort involving 15 people, we were tucked away from the world in the basement of a historical building with everything we needed for success. Having been warned that there may be some noise from the museum traffic above, we were prepared for the worst. However, over two full days there was only one moment of interruption, and that was it - just a moment. We had access to a kitchen, with a refrigerator/freezer and Keurig Coffee-Maker at our beckoning. Rest rooms were very convenient, tables/linens/chairs and whiteboard/flipchart were provided and set up conveniently for us by the staff, who were extremely professional, gracious hosts. We had plenty of room for Team-Building activities and lots of flexibility with table and seating arrangements. Perfect spot for a Teacher's Retreat... we kicked our year off with a Bang, and will definitely schedule with the Museum again.

She really was able to give you different ideas on how you can plan your event from do it yourself to using an event planner. My guest and I had a great time and it was so many different exhibits the added interest to the event versus just being at a reception hall, so I highly recommend it you get a lot for the money and you also have a great person to work with with Lynda Fuller !

Possibly like you, I wondered what an event in a museum would end up like, AND I'll say it couldn't have been better. Great large open space, accommodating in planning and execution, plenty of space for catering, and it has the best antique charm with old wood floors. (I think it was an old hardware store at one point). I'd recommend you at least check it out and I will absolutely consider holding events there again. Team there was great, location was great, and being nestled in downtown for an event makes getting out in Raleigh a must-do. Highly recommended.

I hosted a holiday work party here for approximately 120 people, adults and kids. The event space is beautiful and was perfectly situated in downtown. It feels intimate without feeling crowded and encourages flow. The kids overtook a classroom downstairs where they did crafts and watched a movie. Parking was easy. Every step was made easy, before, during and after the event, because of the excellent staff that supports you.

After searching dozens of other options, we are SO glad to have found the museum. The space itself is tremendous: interesting exhibits which added such character to our party without being overwhelming. The building has warm, historical charm and is set up with a floor plan that flows easily, but could be separated into various sections if that’s what is needed. We were a small, informal party, and somehow the space never swallowed us up or felt un-accommodating; it would be SO lovely for a bigger or more formal event as well. The amenities are quite inclusive for the price point PLUS there’s plenty of parking, and it’s right downtown so it doesn't need to be a destination-type of deal. Also I cannot say enough about the professionalism and kindness we were extended in booking this event. After attempting to negotiate with some private event spaces, we were so delighted by the level of care we were shown by the staff. Throwing a party can be a tough process when tracking multiple moving parts, but the folks at the museum had all our questions answered thoroughly and clearly, before we even thought to ask. Plus we received regular check-ins before the event, just in case there were any considerations we were unclear about. I will absolutely revisit the museum next time I’m hosting. What a delight!

I had no idea the museum could be rented until I went to a party there and was inspired to consider it for my event, and it worked beautifully. Our company hosted a small, 15 person reception at the City of Raleigh Museum on a Thursday night. The entire staff (Lynda, Neil, Chloe, and others) were phenomenal. The Perfect Venue for my Annual Women's Empowerment Event — An Eventective User from Morrisville, NC

Each year since 2018, my nonprofit has an annual women's empowerment event, and for our 5th year event in 2022, we held it at the City of Raleigh Museum. The venue surpassed anything I could imagine. It was the perfect space for my vendors, the main event area, our food and cocktail table area and an area for a 360 photo booth! What I loved the most is I had minimal decorating to do because the venue is already decorated with the museum exhibits! My guests truly enjoyed themselves. Having the personality of the museum, combined with party decor, really made the space come alive for our attendees. Working with Lynda to prepare for our party was excellent. She made the entire process simple and helped when we ran into a last minute issue. The venue was reasonably priced and located centrally. We hosted an engagement party at the COR Museum several weeks ago, and I cannot say enough great things about this place! We had such an amazing and memorable time! The museum is in an awesome historic building in the heart of downtown Raleigh, and our guests really enjoyed getting to socialize while exploring the exhibits they had on display. There really is something magical about being in a museum after dark. Lynda, the rental manager, made the whole booking and planning process easy and stress-free. She was fantastic to work with! The on-site staff the night of the event were also incredible helpful. I would highly recommend the COR Museum for any event. It really is one of my favorite places in Raleigh.

Perfect space for our reunion! — An Eventective User from Clayton, NC

After searching the Raleigh area for a small venue to support our work reunion, we found just the right location in COR Museum. The event manager was completely hospitable, informative, and gave great suggestions to make our celebration run smoothly. The location is in a historic location (those plank floors!) and you have access to a full-sized fridge and prep area with a sink. It is fully accessible with an elevator. The rental also comes with an additional room that can be used for food service or meeting space during your event. We had access to cocktail, 5' round, and 6' folding tables with comfortable wooden folding chairs. We recommend!

Excellent venue to have an event. We had our Family Reunion here and it was fantastic. The staff was kind and able to accommodate our 2 day gathering. It was reasonably priced “very affordable “ within our committee’s budget.. The venue was perfect for the Friday evening event which was casual (games played like bingo) and Saturday night all white more formal was a success. The venue is situated in a great location in downtown Raleigh North Carolina. I would recommend The Raleigh City Museum for a wedding reception, family reunion, baby shower or other gatherings. If you are looking for a reception hall or venue to host a gathering, the Raleigh City Museum is the perfect place.

CoRM is a WONDERFUL place to have your event! — An Eventective User from Covington, LA

We needed a venue for our son's rehearsal dinner and dessert/welcome social. We live in Louisiana, so planning this long distance was daunting. I called the museum and was connected to Lynda who made the whole process easy and downright enjoyable! She reminded me of paperwork that I needed to sign and send in. She drew up how we could layout the tables and food, and she sent me a list of vendors I could use. When the night of the rehearsal dinner arrived, I had forgotten a crucial element of the set up, and though Lynda wasn't there, the staff (Billy and Mallory) immediately began to problem solve and they saved the day and all the tables looked lovely. We had the rehearsal dinner in the middle hall and then a welcome dessert social in the front following the dinner where out of town guests joined us! We set up the food in the back part of the museum and it all flowed beautifully. We received many compliments on having the dinner in the museum with the smart looking exhibits and vintage ambience of the historic hardware building. Lynda and all the museum staff were helpful, easy to work with, knowledgeable and kind. They made it so this mother of the groom could enjoy the dinner with her guests, which is no small feat! Highly recommend the City of Raleigh Museum for your event!

Rehearsal Dinner CORM — An Eventective User from Raleigh NC

The CORM experience was FANTASTIC from beginning to end. We had a LARGE rehearsal dinner that included many out of towners. It totaled around 114 guests, which was about 10 more than we originally planned on. Lynda was with us from the beginning, keeping me on track with what I needed to complete, things to consider or decide from booking to the day of the party. She worked with our caterer for us on some of our set up times, etc. so that took the burden off us because we are not local. The flexibility the CORM offers cannot be beat compared to other sites. On the day of the event, Lynda and Kelly were with us EVERY STEP of the way to make sure we had everything we needed, and stayed with us all night. The best part, we got SO MANY COMPLIMENTS on how awesome the museum was and how great the party turned out. Time and again, since I have heard, this was the best party! I mean c'mon, its a MUSEUM! Can't get any better than that! We would not change a thing. I cannot brag on our experience enough. If you are on the fence about using the museum, don't be. It is an awesome place with wonderful possibilities and Lynda and her team will make it a great experience.

Amazing Wedding Reception Venue — An Eventective User from Raleigh, NC

I had the most amazing wedding reception at the City of Raleigh Museum! Lynda was extremely helpful in helping me plan and execute my dream event. We had 110 guests who all fit nicely in the center of the space with plenty of room for gift table, buffet, bar, and dancefloor. Lynda arranged the floor to allow our first dance to take place right in the center of our guests' tables. There was even private space downstairs to store belongings and leftovers before and after the event. Our guests loved this unique space and the ability to walk easily to their hotels and bars afterwards. I loved the inclusion of tables, chairs, setup, and breakdown all at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend the museum for formal events!

From the minute guests are greeted by the sandwich board sitting out front with your custom message to enjoying the various spaces, our attendees felt welcome and in awe that such a cool gem is hidden in plain sight downtown. We had a 50th birthday event at the City of Raleigh Museum. It was a 1980's prom theme, and we could not have picked a better venue. A museum? You might think it's odd. But between the amazing space, the original wood floors, the multiple areas to set up and use, the access to the venue before the event and after, the location, it was perfect. And the price? The ability to use or not use caterers - we could have had a potluck! It saved us so much money. I will be back here if I ever have another event. A wedding? YES! A birthday party? Absolutely! A reunion - you bet! A corporate event - no brainer! Lynda and her team were beyond accommodating, friendly, professional, helpful. This is an easy decision - go look at the space and the value you're getting. I'm betting you decide to hold whatever event you're having here.

Lynda is so amazing! I originally chose this location because it was the most affordable option for a fall wedding and reception. Due to the increase in case numbers we switched it to just a virtual wedding with 10 guests. Lynda was so hands on and helpful with this change and the vendors as well. Women's Club of Raleigh Classroom - a great meeting venue — An Eventective User from Jacksonville, NC

The Women's Club of Raleigh Classroom is a great space for a meeting. Our organization recently held a board meeting in this classroom. There were about 30 people in attendance and this room was quite capable of hosting a group that large. We chose to set the room up with rows of chairs and a head table, but the room could have easily accommodated enough tables and chairs to seat the entire group. Although steps from above in the museum galleries could be heard in the classroom, our meeting was not impeded or negatively impacted by those sounds. This venue offered a private space in a comfortable setting away from other visitors to the museum. There are restaurants close by for catering options and parking was within walking distance of the museum. I would recommend the classroom at the COR Museum for a great meeting space.

We recently had our wedding at the City of Raleigh Museum and it was such a wonderful experience. The best part was Lynda! Lynda Fuller is the rental manager at the CoRM and she is just amazing. She was so helpful throughout the entire process and she was there the night of the wedding to make sure that everything went as planned and to make sure we had everything we needed. She was basically our day-of-coordinator. I really cannot say enough great things about Lynda as well as the rest of the staff there. When we were looking for a wedding venue, we wanted somewhere unique and somewhere that would let us do what we wanted as far as vendors, food, decorations, etc. and we found what we were looking for at the City of Raleigh Museum. We were able to choose what food we wanted, provide our own alcohol/bar, decorate how we wanted and they were overall a lot more flexible than other venues. Not to mention the price is incredible! We received so many compliments from our guests regarding how unique our venue was. It's also right downtown and our hotel was only a 5 minute walk away. That was really important since we had a lot of family and guests coming from out of town, and they were all able to stay in a nice hotel right by the museum so we could have a great time and they didn't have to worry about driving or parking. They were also able to go out before and after the wedding and explore downtown Raleigh. If you are looking for a laid-back and unique venue with great staff and amazing location, look no further than the City of Raleigh Museum!

Unique Hidden Gem — An Eventective User from Raleigh, NC

City of Raleigh Museum (CORM) is a unique hidden gem for venue space in Downtown Raleigh. Included with the space is an event coordinator, Lynda Fuller and staff who provided exceptional service. We met with the coordinator multiple times prior to our wedding reception. The CORM team made the day seamless, completing setup, coordinating with vendors and assisting with event timing. The museum is decoration in itself and provided our guests unique browsing opportunities throughout the event. The only decoration we added were simple centerpieces. We held the wedding ceremony in the Lobby Gallery, then moved into the Foundation Gallery for cocktail hour and dinner while the CORM staff set up the Lobby Gallery for dancing. We were pleased to learn the CORM receives all the event funds and they were flexible regarding COVID-19 in the event we had to postpone or cancel.

My daughter's gender reveal was held at the COR Museum. It turned out to be an excellent choice. I knew that I wanted to rent the venue as soon as I spoke with the rental manager, Lynda Fuller. As the parents to be put it, " It's the perfect place to hold an event for two nerds". Everyone had a ball!! We elected to have Lynda and her staff setup and take down the tables. If you’re looking for an affordable event space, this is the one! We were able to start bringing in items the day before and the entire day of the event which made set up a lot easier! Your throw back 90's theme party was spot on for two amazing young women celebrating their 30th milestone birthdays. I don't think I will ever be able to see a picture of Cher or Dolly Parton and not think of you two! We are truly honored to have made your memory book!

Our son's Rehearsal Dinner couldn't have been more elegant and charming! The City of Raleigh Museum is the perfect place to hold anything from a super casual to a very formal event. The space has a lovely ambiance with its hard plank flooring, high ceilings, and interesting exhibits. From the youngest (6) to the oldest (80-something), everyone loved the location, and we have received endless compliments on our choice of venue. The Museum staff could not have been more organized, helpful, and accommodating. Overall, it was a delightful experience.

We celebrated my son's 18th birthday at the museum and it was fantastic. Lynda and the staff at the museum went out of their way to ensure the celebration was a success. I absolutely loved the Downtown Raleigh location; which is in the heart of everything and the nostalgic feel of the museum. However, one thing I greatly appreciated was the fact that we could bring our own food. Many venues require rentals/food from their preferred vendors.

Great Place for Bridal Shower — An Eventective User

I had my bridal shower and rehearsal dinner at the museum and let me tell you it was AWESOME. The museum is spacious, historic, and it’s in a prime location with it being in downtown Raleigh. Lynda was great to work with and helped me every step of the way. I would recommend the museum to anyone and will hold future events here.

Held my son's wedding rehearsal at the City of Raleigh Museum June 4th. This was an amazing place to host this event. The location, set up and staff was superb! We had our rehearsal dinner at the City of Raleigh Museum and it worked great! Lynda was wondergufl to work with and it's a very versatile space and very unique. It was also really nice that it was already right in downtown Raleigh that we could go out afterwards but there was still free parking in the evening! The space was great and we were able to play music and everything without a problem.

My wedding was absolutely amazing thanks to Lynda Fuller! From the first day I met her, I felt that she was equally excited about making my wedding day the most memorable day of my life! She was patient, kind, and very informative. She checked on me to throughout the weeks leading up to my wedding day, and on the stepped up to coordinate with all of my vendors so that I wouldn't have issues on the day of. We thoroughly went over all the ins and outs and she provided some excellent suggestions, that I truly appreciated. For the cost of the rental, you'd think that I broke the bank to have such a beautiful wedding, but that was not the case. The museum is beautifully decorated already, and amazingly priced. I would definitely recommend this venue for any event and more so recommend Lynda as a great event coordinator.

We held our sons Rehearsal Dinner at the City of Raleigh Museum with a catered dinner. It was absolutely a perfect spot to hold our event. We live in Wisconsin and had to do all the planning over the phone and through email. The contact at the museum, Lynda, was wonderful to work with. She answered all of my questions, got back to me immediately, and did everything she could to accommodate my wishes. The size and look of the space fit our needs perfectly. My son and his wife loved how it all turned out and all the guest commented on what a great venue it was. I would highly recommend this location for any event you are planning. We planned a Rehearsal PARTY with Lynda Fuller, COR Museum staff. She helped us every step of the way: to plan the event, find a caterer, rental companies, florists, providing media sources, etc. Then we had to cancel as NC banned large events because of Coronavirus. Because of military travel restrictions, the wedding was moved to Charleston, SC, in a much smaller wedding. We loved the Museum as a venue (even though we didn't actually get to experience it) and plan to be back. it is a unique venue; the staff are very accommodating with suggestions to make things better; all in all, a very pleasant experience of planning! I KNOW it would have been a wonderful party; will have to find another opportunity to use the Museum!

Amazing wedding Venue — An Eventective User from Rocky Mount , Nc

We had our wedding here yesterday and the staff has been incredible since day one. Everything went so smoothly and they made sure they were informed on how the flow and the set up of the wedding should be. We ordered some magnets of the building, they had in the gift shop as a souvenir, as wedding favors. Unfortunately, due to the corona virus we were not able to get them. But the staff went out of their way to find a local vendor that would make a magnet of the building for us to give to our guests. We ended up with this amazing carved wooden magnet. The City of Raleigh Museum staff did not have to go above and beyond for us when it came to those magnets.. but they chose to do so and in turn made something that could have been chaotic for us to find last minute a very simple solution. I recommend using this beautiful and unique venue to any bride and groom.. we will never forget this place and neither will our guests!

Where do I start!! This is one of Raleigh’s hidden jewels ! The staff was amazing from start to finish! Lynda and the CORE staff exceed my expectations! They made my wedding experience smooth . When I started this journey for a New Year’s Eve wedding, I wanted it to be simple but elegant! Lynda and her staff made sure they provided that.Even with all of festivities going on downtown they still managed to make my day a success! As for the building, not much was needed, the museum adds to any theme ! It’s just beautiful! Everything was beautiful! When my mom first walked in the museum she said “I don’t see it”. 1 hour later oh my this is beautiful! The location was perfect, the staff was amazing and I’m glad I decided to have my wedding there! Thanks CORE!!

The city of Raleigh Museum is a great venue for a company get together or party. The place is perfect for mingling, eating, and socializing. The exhibits are unique and provide a great alternative to just sitting at a table talking. We brought about 100 guests and there was plenty of room for more. The location is perfect for those that want to continue the party after your event is over, as there are plenty of other things to do downtown that are just a short walk away. The staff was wonderful at helping to plan and provided recommendations on setup as well as vendors for rentals if needed. I highly recommend hosting your next corporate event at the City of Raleigh Museum!

My husband and I recently got married and had our reception at the museum and it was AMAZING. Lynda and the staff were awesome and made our event perfect. Our guests had so much fun, there was something for them to look at and even learn about in every corner. There are new exhibits to explore as well as awesome hometown Raleigh history and memorabilia all over that made us feel at home and gave so many great talking points. The space is vast and so incredibly versatile that there are limitless possibilities for layout of tables, dancefloor, bar etc. Lynda helped us along the entire way planning but also gave us the freedom to decide what we felt was best for our event. Even though we didn't have a ceremony at the museum I could totally see how the space could easily be transformed quickly from ceremony to reception hall with ease. From the beautiful original hardwood floors and tall vaulted ceilings to the completely amazing staff, if you're looking for that place that has something extra, this is it!

We recently held a professional networking event at the COR museum for about 70 people, complete with food and drinks. The space is historic, unique, and was a wonderful space for the event. The staff at the museum was extremely helpful and made it one of the easiest 'reservation' experiences I've had. The museum has everything you could need for a successful event. Set up and clean up was a breeze and we had numerous attendees comment on how great the space was for the event. Pricing was extremely reasonable as well for such an amazing space.

Unique event space in a great location! — An Eventective User

We hosted the cocktail hour for our wedding at the City of Raleigh Museum and loved everything about it! The location is wonderful right in the heart of downtown Raleigh. A lot of our guests came in from other states and loved the personal touch of us being able to share information about our city with them in this way. Lynda and the team at the museum were wonderful to work with - offering recommendations, being flexible with our needs & overall incredibly friendly! I’m going to have to start brainstorming reasons to rent this space again.

Excellent Holiday Party Venue — An Eventective User from Apex, NC

We had a group of about 60 people at City of Raleigh Museum for a company holiday party. The venue was excellent, perfect size for feeling spacious but also intimate. The set up of the museum naturally lent itself to various activities and the museum displays themselves acted as unobtrusive entertainment. Lynda was wonderful to work with, very thorough and helpful while planning. Our group raved about the venue and the party overall. Would highly recommend!!
