Hy-Vee Floral Almost Perfect! - An Eventective User from Quincy, Il

When I got engaged in 2009, I decided to go with my favorite grocery store, Hy-Vee, for both my catering and floral needs. It was close to home and easily available. I loved the catering, and I was almost as happy with the florist. First of all, it was really reasonable for me to get my bouquet, 5 bridesmaids bouquets, 5 groomsmen pins, and 3 mother and grandmother pins as well as two arrangements for the church. I was set to be married at 1:00 pm, and as I was getting ready around 12:45 I realized that I did not have my flowers yet! I was one step away from walking down the aisle when they finally arrived with my flowers. Despite that, they were absolutely beautiful. They were fresh and crisp looking, not at all wilted or droopy. They actually looked great for days afterwards! I took home the arrangements and put them on my porch afterwards and loved looking at them. Everyone I worked with was friendly and extremely competent. My only real concern was that they were late delivering them. I would have liked to have them at least by 12:30. Good thing I was so nervous about getting ready and looking right or I would have been stressed and on the phone with Hy-Vee! Despite everything, it all worked out and the flowers were great looking. It was cheap and easy, and I would recommend it. If you do, make sure you set a time for the flowers to be delivered (i.e., no later than 12:30 pm)!

Hy-Vee Catering Really Delivered! - An Eventective User from Quincy, Il

When I first became engaged in November 2009 (got married in June, 2010), I was confused by the amount of caterers on the market. I didn't know how to choose one or even what I was looking for. I decided to see the pricing for my favorite grocery store, Hy-Vee. I sat down with the manager and together we estimated the number of guests and decided on the kind of food I'd want. I chose a couple veggie trays, and "picnic food"- chips and french onion dip, barbeque beef, buns, rolls, and some fresh fruit. There were a number of different desserts to choose from. I chose brownies and cookies. I also had a cooler for water and iced tea. The prices vary on everything, so make sure you are as specific as possible, but it was really reasonable for me to feed approximately 150 people. The thing is, to this day I still have family members and friends talking about good the food at our wedding was! Everything was fresh and tasty, like home-made food. Another good thing is that they were not late at all! Everything was set up and looking nice well in advance. All of the workers were very friendly and respectful. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. In fact, I think I have before! I know Hy-Vees are available around the midwest, so if you're looking for cheap and uncomplicated catering, I'd consider it!
