About Old Camp Joy Event Center

Old Camp Joy’s storybook cottages offer a beautiful, pastoral setting for weddings, parties, and lakeside vacations. Amenities include central heat and air conditioning, excellent well water, charcoal barbeques with side tables on masonry platforms, fire pits (with complimentary firewood), electric fireplaces, high quality white linens, and private decks with comfortable chairs overlooking the park-like landscape down to the water. Feel free to bring in your own food or catering. Please note we are closed Sundays, most Mondays, and Tuesdays.

This venue is an absolute gem! The owners are angels! It's such a beautiful place! We rented it for a baby shower, and have booked it again for another baby shower. Any future events that we have, we will definitely be booking there again. It's perfect for any event.

Perfect place for our event! - An Eventective User

We were looking for a location for our daughter's 18th birthday party and this turned out to be the perfect place. First, it's affordable and beautiful in the same package! Second, they already have most of what you need free to use - tables & chairs and a kitchen fully stocked with every pot/pan/utensil you could possibly need. They even have linen tablecloths that we chose not to use with a bunch of teenagers. It's right on Lake of the Pines and they even had a couple of canoes and a row boat for use which the kids loved. I can't recommend this place enough. The couple that own it are super nice, as well.

Dad’s Memorial Service held at the perfect place! - An Eventective User from Cookson, OK

Old Camp Joy was a great place to have Dad’s memorial service. He would have loved the setting here looking at Lake O’ the Pines where he spent a lot of his time fishing. The Reformation Hall is beautifully done and has a fully equipped kitchen for preparing food for your event. Tables, chairs and tablecloths were already set up for us and Tom & Katherine were so sweet and accommodating. My family stayed in the three cottages and they were perfect! I am so looking forward to returning this Spring for another stay when the flowers and trees are all pretty & green. We would highly recommend Old Camp Joy for any type of event. It was perfect!

East Texas Lakeside Wedding Venue Hidden Gem - An Eventective User from Gladewater, TX

I recently got married here and it is just Stunning! So many words to describe the property, cottages, and event hall. Quaint, peaceful, beautiful, clean, picturesque, lovely, scenic, and so much more! All of the cottages are unique and beautiful. The largest cottage sleeps 8 and the dining room table is large enough to play board games on with several people. The cottages are fully stocked with all the basic essentials. The event hall, Reformation Hall, is absolutely gorgeous! From the lighting to the floors, you are going to love it. It has a good size kitchen for preparing food. And, it has separate bathrooms for men and women, I really like that. The owners, Tom and Katherine are so kind and helpful during your entire stay. Did I mention the price? Wedding venues tend to be very pricey, especially lakeside ones! Not here at Old Camp Joy! It is affordable and there is a payment plan to pay 1/2 down and then 1/2 thirty days before the event. And, all the tables, chairs, and tablecloth’s are included, so you do not have to rent all of that! I myself personally am not affiliated with Old Camp Joy, but it truly is amazing and I’m so glad that I was blessed enough to be able to get married here. I can’t wait to come back and rent another cottage! :)

Beautiful Wedding Venue - An Eventective User from McKinney, TX

We had a beautiful wedding event at Old Camp Joy this past October. Tom and Katherine could not have been more helpful with questions, arrangements and connecting us with. local florist, and the BEST wedding baker ever! The 3 cottage set up, was perfect! Plenty of room for our immediate family. The kitchen in the Reformation hall worked out great for all my food prep. 2 refrigerators and commercial grade oven was a dream! I did bring all our dishes and glassware. We only had 12 guests in attendance. I wish I could post pictures of the day! It was magical!

The ladies group from our church spent a weekend at Old Camp Joy. The cabins were decorated nicely and very clean. The grounds are awesome and the views unbelievable. Tom and Katherine were always just a phone call away and took care of any requests we had. Highly recommend this place!!!

Wonderful experience - An Eventective User from Ore City, Texas

We recently rented all of the cabins and event center for our wedding. Renting all of these together gave us more flexibility for having games and being able to stay outside for as long as we needed without interrupting other renters (if there was others staying in the cabins). We did have very bad luck with the rain that night, but I've been told that just makes the night more memorable! Tom and Katherine were amazing and let me come multiple times before the wedding to see what would match and see different layouts of how we wanted to do things for our special night. They even helped us with putting all the chairs and tables up outside and inside the day of the wedding. It was nice being so close to where we were setting up and since we got everything for the whole weekend we got to decorate everything the day before and take everything down the next day!!! That was honestly the best part!! We got to sleep in every day knowing we had the whole day to do the task! The event center and cabins were very clean and presentable. All the guest commented on how they would of liked to use the cabins instead of their crummy hotel rooms they got somewhere else! We had no complaints at all about our experience at Old Camp Joy!

Southside Baptist - Henderson - Women's Gathering - first weekend in December 2022 - An Eventective User from Henderson, Texas

We rented the whole campus and had a total of 20 women (from age 22 - 76) attend the day program on Saturday in the Reformation Hall and approximately twelve staying overnight in the cabins Friday and Saturday night. It was the perfect setting - peaceful, beautifully appointed, hiking trails, etc. The hosts went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, The purpose of the event was to grow closer to the Lord through His Word and to one another.
