Congratulations on your upcoming event and thank you for contacting us! My husband, Rick and I have lived and owned Happy Apple Orchard for more than 20 years and we are pleased to offer a beautiful and welcoming place for you and your guests. We are available before and during your event for all your facility needs. Happy Apple Celebrations is available for indoor or outdoor weddings and receptions, and can accommodate up to 500 people in our large banquet room. We also have small banquet room, holds 100 people plus buffet tables. This room has lodge type feel to it and works great for smaller groups. We have a full service event center that is totally air conditioned and heated. It includes tables and chairs ... the linens are extra. If you want real linens, I can give you several places you can rent them from or if you just want something simple and inexpensive, I can stir you in that direction with some fairly good ideas (I think:). The facility comes with conventional lighting or mood lighting, decorations on the ceiling, plus a lighted backdrop behind the head tables and a dance area that can accommodate a DJ, band or karaoke, and great outdoor photo options, if you want these features... all these things we can work out ... so you get what you want. We, also have, a full-kitchen available for your catering needs, restrooms, a bridal/family area for pre-wedding preparations and lots of other amenities. You are free to chose your own cater, relative, friends, or whoever you like, to do catering. If you need a reference for catering, DJ, hotel rooms, florists, photographers etc. .... in-other words, we are here to do whatever it takes to make your day more special. We do carry a full liquor license, so all alcohol and bartenders are provided by us, which is an extra cost to you ...depending on what you what to provide for your guests (or can afford?) We are willing to work with you on this, thus helping to set your budget. To really appreciate how beautiful our place is and to determine if this is the place for your celebration, please come and visit us. We can discuss the details of your wedding and/or reception and see how we can meet your needs. We are available for appointments anytime. Sunrise Chapel in Des Moines is designed for the couple who wish to have a ceremony in a small chapel setting. Our chapel will seat 4 guests in addition to the bride and groom, with standing room for 6. While our concept is a small venue, we can accommodate standing outside for a few guests weather permitting. All evening ceremonies are by candlelight. Travel? Yes we do, some locations are Kirksville, Gallatin, MO. Red Oak, Cushing, Sutherland, Waverly, Lamoni, Britt, Marion, Ames., Zearing Iowa, Omaha Nebraska. Please let us know if you are active military and about to be deployed. Recently received the "Best of 2015" and Best Pro 2016 award on "Thumbtack". I am sorry, we do not offer reception facilities.
