We had them cater our wedding desserts, including both a three-tier cake and a dessert buffet of tarts and French macarons. It looked beautiful and everything was simply delicious. But maybe one is not the most objective judge regarding their own wedding day desserts, you may ask? Well, we froze the top layer from our October wedding in the hope that we would save it for our first anniversary. And one night last week, after an especially long day and in the midst of a great need for some chocolate, we decided to cut into the frozen cake and eat just a small bite. The cake was insanely delicious, despite being frozen and six months old. And, um, it is now all gone. (So much for eating it on our first anniversary! Luckily, the bakery gives you a first anniversary cake for free if they cater your wedding.) I'm not big into frosting, but with the Sea Salt Caramel, this is the first time that I've liked the frosting more than the cake! The frosting was whipped so it was very light and had a great caramel flavor and the salt added the perfect touch. The whole thing was delicious, but I thought the cake was a little on the dry side. However the Chocolate cupcake--perfect! Moist chocolate cake, great chocolate flavor and the frosting was yummy as well. The owners, Laurie and Joe, were a pleasure to work with as well--one of our favorite wedding vendors. Laurie worked with me to design a modern cake based on one I had seen on a NYC-based wedding blog, and it turned out better than I had expected. Since our wedding, we've been back to get cupcakes, macarons and brownies. All are delicious!
