N?ewly formed, local a capella group presents a concert supporting Las Vegas non-profit organization that benefits local refugee families in need - all proceeds will be going to support the programs offered by Lighthouse - Concert will be held at the Las Vegas Windmill Library Performing Arts Center on Monday, November 6th, 2023 at 7:00 pm The mission of Lighthouse Charities is to empower refugees by providing access to opportunities that promote self-sufficiency, encourage personal growth, foster healing and restore hope. Nevada welcomes more than two thousand refugees each year, and there are currently over 40,000 refugees living in the state Refugees have been forced to leave their homes, displaced by terrifying circumstances as they fled violence, wars and persecution, as is the recent case with the Ukrainian refugees arriving in Las Vegas. Since its inception, Lighthouse Charities has transformed the lives of thousands of refugee families. Annually, Lighthouse Charities provides core services to more than 300 refugees, asylum seekers and legal immigrants. Additionally, Lighthouse provides supplementary nutrition to 8,000 food-insecure Nevadans and refugees through regular food distributions through its Pantry Program. The organization receives support from more than 900 volunteers each year.
