At the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, you will find works by modern and contemporary artists from around the world. At the core of the Museum's permanent collection is the Bebe and Crosby Kemper Collection, a gift by the Museum's founder R. Crosby Kemper and his wife Bebe Kemper, and the Kemper Foundations. Visitors to the Kemper Museum discover works in all media by renowned modern and contemporary artists as well as works by emerging artists. Permanent Collection artists include Polly Apfelbaum, Arthur Dove, Louise Bourgeois, Dale Chihuly, Damien Hirst, Andrew Wyeth, Fairfield Porter, Georgia O'Keeffe, Frank Stella, Lesley Dill, Romare Bearden, Christian Boltanski, Robert Mapplethorpe, Garry Winogrand, Kojo Griffin, Matthew Ritchie, Wayne Thiebaud, Petah Coyne, Tom Otterness, and Hung Liu. Using the Kemper Museum to host a private, after-hours event is a benefit of upper-level membership and Corporate Council membership. 8th&Main is a wedding and events space in historic downtown Grandview, Missouri. The urban space that has been restored to grandeur with a nod to its past life as a bank. While renovating the building, we discovered the original bank vault and gave it a prominent place in this intimate room with 10 foot oak paneled doors dating back to 1902. The vault room is ideal for a ceremony or cocktail party of 130 or less. The larger reception room is upscale in style and finishes and has plenty of room for dinner and dancing for 150 guests. The exposed brick walls and solid oak doors give way to a private outdoor patio that accommodates a ceremony for 180. The patio is also a great space for guests to talk and mingle around the dancing flames of the outdoor fireplace.
