Byron and his staff perform all the civil ceremonies for Henrico and Richmond couples' at the Henrico Govt Center Venues at the same complex as the Henrico Courthouse seven days a week and all guests are welcome. Also, you can have them come to the home and venue where you are having your wedding reception and they will perform your ceremony there. What a Deal! — An Eventective User from Richmond, Virginia

Rev. Byron was wonderful in explaining the marriage process for the Richmond area. We learned that all the Richmond couples' come to The Henrico Courthouse and get their marriage license there and get married the same day at the Wedding Venues in the Courthouse Complex. The Richmond Courthouse does not do civil ceremonies any more. We needed to get married right away for legal purposes, and we had a larger ceremony later and Rev. Byron performed both ceremonies. Richmond is such a hassle with parking, and the license has to be mailed back to the Courthouse after the ceremony resulting in getting lost in the mail . Henrico lets you take the license back in yourself and get your certified copy while you are there, and ceremonies are scheduled and performed at the Henrico Courthouse Venues Seven Days A Week, as well as at homes and venues seven days a week. Remember, Rev. Byron and his staff schedule all the ceremonies, since they are not done in the Courthouse itself, but at the 5 venues. We are so happy! Tanisha and Rich

We are so happy we talked to Rev. Byron about our Henrico Courthouse Wedding. The misunderstanding came when we talked to the Courthouse and they said they don't do them there anymore. We took that to mean that no ceremonies are done there any more. In reality, ceremonies are scheduled and performed at the Courthouse Wedding venues day and night every day of the year. The venues are always open which is why the ceremonies are performed at the 5 venues rather than the Courthouse. It is my understanding that the Courthouse stopped doing them in 2009, and Rev. Byron took over the ceremonies at the venues in 2010. Witnesses are not required, but all guests are welcome. You can even ZOOM people in who can't be present.
