Wonderful Wedding Reception, An Eventective User from Gainesville, FL

For our wedding reception, my husband and I agreed to hold it at the Hilton at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. The reason we selected this venue is for their pricing, care and consideration of the event planning staff, and simplicity of their banquet rooms. When we first met with the event coordinator, I was concerned that this wasn't going to be the right location because we only wanted a relatively small gathering of less than 75 people in total, including two toddlers. The coordinator assured me that they can handle parties of any size from less than 50 people all the way to over 500 people. With that in mind, we went through the menus and chose our dinner selection. We had a variety of hor deurves for the cocktail hour, followed by a salad course, and finally a steak and chicken dinner. They even offered vegetarian and vegan plates for our friends that don't eat meat! The champagne toast and cake cutting were included in the dinner prices. After the event, my husband and I stayed the night in the complimentary hotel suite where room service brought up plates from dinner (because we didn't get to eat much), followed by a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. I was so pleased with my event that I wrote the hotel manager personally thanking her for the amazing reception that went beyond my wildest dreams. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose the Hilton at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL.
