We live in Florida but most of my family & the friends I grew up with are in the IA/IL Quad Cities or near there. We decided to have a reception in Iowa for this group to celebrate our marriage. We chose to use the Blackhawk Hotel and Club Davenport room because of the FANTASTIC customer service we received from their Event Sales staff, particularly Kaitlin C. We were up in the air between having the reception at the Figge Museum or Club Davenport and Kaitlin C is the reason we chose the Blackhawk. Her customer service was top-notch and she went above and beyond to make sure we received what we wanted (and all of this long-distance, email and via FaceTime!). Her excellent customer service extended to the staff of the event itself, all of whom went above and beyond. Our bartender, Cotrease, had the best personality for our group and did a super job! The atmosphere of the Club Davenport Room was intimate and subdued and our guests thought the views were great (although I think that the River Center should put a green garden roof on!! - better for the environment and a better view for all in the hotel!). The food came out on time, hot and with enough portions ... and yes, tasted wonderful! Our desserts were truly delicious and the Cherries Jubilee station was fun. However, we had a lot of leftovers (not the fault of the Hotel but of those guests that didn't show up!); after signing a waiver, the Blackhawk allowed this food to go to a local food bank. We really appreciated that!! Honestly, we cannot complain about anything ... we received what we wanted and more from the Blackhawk (and even the mix-up in the hotel room we were supposed to get was OK - they adjusted the price!). It's a beautiful hotel, comfortable (the bed and linens are heaven) and the staff works really hard to give the guests a memorable experience. Next time we go to Davenport we will be staying at the hotel again just for the experience (and maybe even take time to go bowling downstairs!!). Thanks Blackhawk Team for a great experience!
