Recommendations
Dallas Convention Center Recommendation
— An Eventective User
from Wilmington, IL
I would recommend the Dallas Convention Center to anyone looking to hold a conference or a very large convention. I was there in July 2011 on a jewelry convention with my girlfriend and not only was everything large enough to hold all of us, but everything was so comfortable. We eat breakfast and lunch there and the staff were so friendly even though they had to deal with about 20,000 people at once. There was always enough food for everyone. Finding a restroom or even finding your way around was effortless at best.
It is located in the heart of downtown Dallas and not only was it easy to find, but the parking garage is easily located and just a short walk from your vehicle. I'm used to Chicago traffic and I didn't find the traffic to be a bother at all. Anything you could possibly need is within walking distance from the Dallas Convention Center. Lots of really nice hotels close by too.
Dallas gets hot in the summertime, and when we were there the weather was no exception. The air conditioners were working overtime for us and kept us nice and cool. Even with 20,000+ people in the arena you never felt crowded or that it was getting uncomfortable in there.
For a first-time visitor to Dallas and holding a convention, I would recommend the Dallas Convention Center to anyone who wants a great location, followed by courteous and friendly staff.
Above and Beyond in Dallas

The Dallas Convention Center is gorgeous both inside and out, from the glass front to the comfortable arena and wide open luncheon space. The sound and light equipment are top notch for arena performances and speakers. There is also plenty of space for many different lectures or classroom meetings to take place simultaneously while not allowing the sound from one amplified class to interfere with another. The facility also provides translation services for Spanish-speaking attendees and recording services so that a program may be made available beyond the event.
The service is excellent, as is the catering. The small food vendors offering snacks are decently priced and readily available, as well as tasty. The restrooms are clean, and more importantly, there are a lot of them! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and available for questions. They do an excellent job of assisting in event organization from start to finish. The staff helps provide information about the available spaces and finds the best space for the size of the group, they help wrangle large crowds to luncheon tables and to shuttles with a minimum of confusion, they go above and beyond to ensure satisfaction.
There are both escalators and elevators. Cell reception inside is good for those all important business calls. The exhibition space has plenty of power outlets and good lighting, so that exhibitors can really show off their wares. The acoustics are excellent, crowd noise doesn't overwhelm visitors.
After three conventions at this facility, I highly recommend it to others, it is perfect for large groups.
