Birthday party for my niece — An Eventective User from Columbus, Ohio
Let me start by saying the space is beautiful. However the owner and customer service given was TRASH. My sister paid a nice amount of money for my niece birthday party to be held there. When doing a walk through my sister specifically asked about central air the owner assured her that there was central air. The day of the party we walk in to a very humid space no central air but had small Mobil ac unit. After looking on it the central air has been out since June she never placed a call to ask us what we wanted to do. People were uncomfortably hot in the place. Hair was sweated out the cake began to melt. The owner also did a focal point and misspelled my niece name. My sister ordered a professional photographer in which most pictures was done in that area and sadly they tried to turn a C into a K. I’m sure you can imagine how distracting it was because of the mess up. Also included in the package was an ice maker. My sister paid the owner for the whole day however the event would be only 3 hours. The ice machine did not produce not one single piece of ice. They also put the cake out and discarded the cake box so when it was time to go home we didn’t even have a place to put the cake so guess what more damage to the cake. All of this takes place the owner never reached out. Not to say things don’t happen but be upfront about it when people are putting their hard earned money on the line. I contacted her to speak on the issues she told me numerous times it’s a waste of her time. It was intentional so it’s not on her. She told me she gave my sister multiple discounts up front that she didn’t actually give. She offered 200.00 refund in which I said wasn’t enough. She said anything outside of that take me to small claims. She was never empathetic about the situation she even went as far as to send a email after discussing our issues with her to lie stating someone was smoking in the venue this was 2 days later. We asked for footage and what do you know NO FOOTAGE was given and no more talk about the smoking. I do not recommend this place at all. Your experience and wishes are in someone’s hands who truly does not care. If she messes up she has no accountability in it or sympathy. I would give it a 1 star and that is for the look of the inside of the building. That’s it

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear the experience didn’t meet your expectations. We take every event seriously, and it’s always disappointing when a guest feels let down, especially after we’ve done our best to go above and beyond. To clarify a few things: – The backdrop with your niece’s name was a complimentary gift, not a paid service. We were not provided with a finalized spelling, but still attempted to make on-the-spot corrections when informed. – Our ice machine is free to use, but not guaranteed in any package. It was functioning and simply needed to be turned on, which can easily happen with guest traffic and wasn’t mentioned during the event. – Regarding air conditioning, our venue has central air, multiple window units, and ceiling fans throughout. At no point was the venue without active cooling systems. We received no requests or complaints about temperature during the event itself. – The cake box was never brought up during setup, and as with most venues, guests are expected to manage specialty items unless otherwise arranged in advance. Despite these minor oversights—none of which were contract violations—we still issued a $200 refund out of goodwill, in addition to the significant discount that was already applied at booking. It’s unfortunate that the tone of this review does not reflect the cooperation we tried to offer throughout. We understand that emotions run high when planning important events, and we always aim to respond with care, clarity, and fairness. We wish your family the very best
