127th Annual Cuyahoga County Fair

CUYAHOGA COUNTY FAIR FOOD WALK-THRU - SATURDAY, MAY 18TH & SUNDAY, MAY 19TH JOIN US FOR SPRINGTIME DELICIOUSNESS!
The directors of the Cuyahoga County Fair Board are excited to bring back the Spring Version of the Fair Food Walk-Thru, to be held Saturday, May 18th and Sunday, May 19th at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea from 11AM -6PM each day. This is a teaser event in anticipation of the 127th Annual Cuyahoga County Fair planned for Tuesday, August 6th thru Sunday, August 11th.
“This event is being brought back by popular demand, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the enthusiastic patronage of those who have supported our fair for so many years,” states Fair Board Concession Director Diane Barton. This Fair Food Teaser will highlight favorite midway foods with twelve (12) concessionaires/vendors participating. From Pizza, Gyros, Steak Sandwiches, Italian Sausage, Hand-Dipped Corn Dogs, and Pierogies, to sweet treats like Banana Cream Nachos, Strudel, Kettle Corn, Cheesecake-On-A-Stick, Funnel Cakes, Elephant Ears, Ice Cream, Caramel & Candy Apples, to Lemonade & a variety of Soft Drinks and so much more. Be sure to bring your Piggy Bank – while some vendors accept credit cards, most are cash only.
This is a Rain or Shine Event with FREE Admission and FREE Parking at both the Main Entrance at 19201 East Bagley and through Gate 2 off 164 Eastland Road.
And it’s not just great fair food. There will be musical entertainment along with midway arcade games (Balloon Pop, Basketball and Water Race). The Bee Barn will also be open on Saturday for “Fun Day” as part of World Bee Day Celebrations. Stop by as volunteers share information about bees and the art of beekeeping.

Meet Carl Cooley
Name: Carl Cooley- City of Residence: North Olmsted, OH
- What is your occupation and/or are you retired and/or other?: Manufacturer Engineer/Ridge Tool Company in Elyria
- What was your first affiliation with the Cuyahoga County Fair?: My parents were involved in the fair before I was born, so my entire life.
- How Long have you served on the CCF Board?: 2024 is my 30th year as a director.
- In what capacity do you currently serve as to departments, etc?: Currently serve as President and active with Cattle Department & Vet Services.
- What has being a member of the CCF Fair Board meant to you?: It is about honoring the past while at once moving into the future.
- What makes the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds so special? I have met people from Maine to Nevada that all have fond memories of the Cuyahoga County Fair.
- What has been your favorite fair moment(s)/event(s) over the years?: Seeing friends from years past and hearing grandparents talk to kids & grandkids about the animals they grew up with..
What is your favorite fair food?: French Fries.- What is your favorite fair fun fact?: That we are divided between 2 cities with different personalities.
- Is there something about you that we don’t know about but that you would like to share or that people would be surprised to know?:
I was an open class exhibitor in Garden/Produce Department before I was old enough to be a 4-H Member. From Milking a Goat at the 1959 Fair to meeting my wife at the 1967 Fair, it has been a great run!

Meet Emma Petrick
Age: 15- City: Strongsville, Ohio

- Animals and their Names and non-animal projects you have taken: Over the years I have taken many animal and non-animal projects-- Animal--Horse, Rabbit, Goat, Duck, Chicken. Non-animal--Sewing & Bee Keeping.
- Did You Know and/or Fun Fact about Club, Program, Animal or Other: 4H has helped instill in me a deep love for animals. I am often known as the "animal whisperer" and have been said to have a way with any animal I come in contact with! I have compassion for all animals, big and small, and have been known to dropper feed barn mice, baby kittens, rescue frogs, turtles--you name it! I own 2 horses and through my love of animals have become an accomplished USEA Event rider.
- What has being a member of 4-H meant to you? 4H means friendship, fun and learning. 4H has a unique way of combining fun with learning and has given me an amazing foundation for the future.
- How have you encouraged others to be involved? I have helped mentor younger 4H members throughout the years and have come alongside younger members by helping them learn their animals and study for judging and showmanship.
- If you had the chance to shine the spotlight on your Club, what would be the top 3 things they would want others to know about 4-H? 4H gives youth the opportunity to learn about topics that they are interested in and to dig deeper all while making it fun. I would summarize it as friendships, fun and learning.
- What are your future plans and how has being in 4-H helped you to accomplish these goals? At this point, I do not know my future career path. However, I do know that my 4H knowledge and love for animals will be a big part of it! Whether that is becoming a horse trainer, barn manager, or possibly even a veterinarian. 4H has given me the tools to be successful in any of these areas.
