Welcome to the Historic O’Keefe Ranch!

Explore the rich ranching and farming history of the North Okanagan.

Step back in time…

…to the early days of the Okanagan Valley.

The Ranch was founded in 1867, and in its earliest days was at the end of the wagon road into the Okanagan Valley and the site of the stagecoach depot. It was a small, self-contained community, with a Post Office, blacksmith shop, grist mill, and even its own church and cemetery. Many of the original buildings still exist, and are a delight to explore.

Situated at the head of Okanagan Lake in the stunning Okanagan Valley, this historic site is a mecca for tourists. Just a few kilometres from the City of Vernon and twenty minutes from Silver Star Mountain, the Ranch welcomes travellers from all over the world, and extends a particular welcome to its local residents.

Historic O’Keefe Ranch tells the story of early BC Ranching and endeavours to preserve the history and culture of the early ranching era for future generations.
