We even offer a Commemorative Garden, a piazza-style space featuring limestone walls bordering a beautiful garden filled with annuals, perennials, and mature trees. Our wedding reception was held at the Indiana Memorial Union in Bloomington, IN. It is located right at the heart of the Indiana University campus which is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL in the Fall. Bari Kuhlman and her team helped to set up the event and the catering which was a huge load off our shoulders. Keeping it short and sweet; the food was incredible and the selection we were able to choose from was flexible and extensive! They had a little something for everyone, even if you have a food allergy. The set up was magical! They made one of the venue rooms available in the Union (I forget the name but they have a lot of rooms to choose from) look stunning with decorations and lighting. Call and ask for pictures!

I was married at the IMU in June of this year, and had my reception there as well. I highly recommend this venue. The director of events, Bari Kuhlman, was very helpful throughout the entire process, and during our communications and meetings she anticipated the many questions that we had and quite a few that we hadn't even thought of. Our ceremony was held outdoors, right outside the venue, and the IMU provided the sound system. The IMU itself handles all the dining tables and catering, but they work very well with all the other businesses dealing with other parts of the wedding (chair rentals, florists, musicians/DJs, cake, etc.). They can also provide many helpful recommendations as they are very knowledgeable about the local wedding industry. They are pretty flexible on those matters. The IMU has three different rooms available for receptions, think of them as small (up to several dozen people), medium (100 to 150), and large (over 150), so they can find you the most appropriate event space for different reception sizes. Perhaps one thing that might be off-putting about this venue is its location within Indiana University's student center. Although the reception areas are private and closed off, the halls and surrounding areas will generally have many other people walking around, especially during the school year. There are also various book stores and eateries that might detract from the ambiance. However, if you have any connection to IU, there is a great deal of sentimental value in having your wedding on campus. Finally, another big plus for my wife and me, both of whom had many family members and friends coming in from out of town, was the IMU hotel. We reserved a block of rooms for our wedding party and a number of guests, and it is simply very convenient to have the wedding and lodging in the same place.

Ceremony Locations HARVEST HALL – is a beautifully decorated building located in a Brown County wooded country setting. The inside location is designed to fit everyone’s needs, completely heated and air conditioned with a romantic fireplace. A large indoor stage provides the ideal setting for an indoor ceremony if the weather is not perfect for an outdoor wedding. The loft area provides a bird’s eye view, and our wooden staircase and the backdrop gives the bride and her party the perfect, breathtaking entrance. A separate room is set aside for the bride and her wedding party's needs. The hall accommodates up to 250 guests. Lake wedding with boats, OUR LAKE affords a truly stunning and unforgettable backdrop, where your reflections seem to last forever. Guests are comfortably seated along the dam overlooking the lake while the bride and groom exchange their vows on the dock with their family and bridal party surrounding them. Our beautiful Harvest Hall is heated or air conditioned, Decorated with rustic antiques and original paintings, the hall comfortably seats 200 and is furnished with tables, chairs, small bar area, stage, dance floor space and a fireplace. The beautiful wooden staircase creates the picture-perfect occasion for a bride’s grand entrance, or wedding party photos. The covered porch can accommodate up to 50 additional guests. There are restrooms with showers and a changing room for the bride. Cater your own event using the prep kitchen to save on catering costs, or let us help with your catering needs. The daily rental fees are $800 for Friday, Saturday or Sunday | $400 Monday through Thursday.. If you are renting the Harvest Hall for a wedding or event and need the hall the night before for the Rehearsal Dinner or an extension of your event, the cost is $400 per day. A non-refundable payment in full is due at the time of booking with a signed contract.
