Great venue, great location., An Eventective User from Leesburg, Virginia

The Baltimore Convention Center is my favorite convention center. It consists of two connected buildings with every size and variety of room you could ever wish for. You can rent as much or as little as you need to suit your needs with room sizes being able to accommodate any size group from the very small to hundreds. Every summer they host the Otakon convention, which has attendees in the range of 30 thousand. For location it can't be beat. It has two hotels directly connected to it, a Sheraton and a Hilton, and many more hotels in very reasonable walking distance. It's connected to Baltimore's skywalks and a less then 10 minute walk to Baltimore's famous inner harbor and it's many food and entertainment options. It's also across the street from the baseball stadium for the Orioles. A Baltimore lightrail stop is conveniently directly beside the convention center, making it easily accessible to Penn Station for Amtrak and BWI airport.

It is a massive place, containing about 1,225,000 square feet of space available for rent. I was recently there for two different conferences, one work related, and the other for training. I can say with confidence that of all of the conference centers that I have been to, this is by far the best. Staff is friendly and easy to deal with, and not intrusive. Security was nice and not overbearing, and very approachable. It is connected by sky walkway to the Hilton Baltimore hotel, making it a very convenient place to stay while at a conference. The massive building has many areas for rent. The location of the center is very good. It is right on the inner harbor of Baltimore, which has a reputation of being very safe and family-friendly (in contrast to the other areas of Baltimore, which are very unsafe). Many attractions are nearby, such as the National Aquarium and Science Museum. Though it was not in the past year, I was involved with the planning board of a different conference that took place at this center. It was two years ago, and as far as I remember, the rates were very reasonable, and space was very flexible. Even if two conferences overlap, the building is so massive that it is easy to separate them. Various amenities are available, such as catering, etc. for reasonable prices, and the staff is very friendly. Overall, this is probably the best conference venue that I have been to, especially for larger conferences. Rating 9.5/10
