Georgia Tech Global Learning Center, An Eventective User from Atlanta, Georgia

A few weeks ago, me and my company had the opportunity to meet for a conference at the Georgia Tech Global Learning Center. It is located in Technology Square on Georgia Tech's campus, which is a wonderful location. We stayed in the Georgia Tech Hotel, which is attached to the Global Learning Center. The GLC is an awesome place to meet. They have the newest technology and are more than equipped to accommodate huge groups of people. The conference rooms were comfortable and the catering was excellent.


Professional Rooms at an Affordable Price, An Eventective User from Detroit, Michigan

As an event planner for a large corporation, I am required to book meeting venues not only in our region of Detroit, Michigan, but all over the United States. One of the best places I have had the pleasure of booking was the Georgia Tech Global Learning Center. The building was professional and located in a great area for our meeting guests. There were plenty of hotels and entertainment options for those who were coming to the meeting. More importantly, though, they offered a Complete Meeting Package. This made my job as a planner so much easier. This included all of the booking and even an event planner specifically for your meeting. This also included the meeting space, which was a selection of amphitheaters, computer labs, videoconferencing rooms, conference rooms, and regular meeting rooms. These rooms also included basic office supplies as well as a comfortable atmosphere. The Complete Meeting Package also offered a technology package. In this package, a speakers lectern, audio-visual equipment, a projector, a screen, a document camera, a desktop computer, laptop connectivity and a microphone are included. One complaint, however, is that these technologies were difficult to use and not completely compatible with my Mac computer. Finally, the package included refreshments. Since our meeting was an all-day event, it was disappointing that the "BuzzBreak" as it is called only provided breakfast and then snacks. A dinner option would have been nice since our meeting lasted until roughly 7:00p.m. Overall, though, the staff was friendly and the office space was professional and organized; a lovely venue for a meeting.

The Solarium is an historic event facility located in the Oakhurst neighborhood of Decatur, Georgia, convenient to public transportation, I-285 and I-20. We can accommodate approximately 150 guests indoors for a buffet reception, and about 200 for a standing, cocktail-type reception. We also have outdoor space that may be utilized for a ceremony and reception. Rather than packages or in-house vendors, we offer our clients the opportunity to select all their own vendors, including catering, entertainment, and decor; clients may also bring in their own alcohol. Our clients or their designee are responsible for pre-event setup and decoration and for post-event equipment breakdown and facility cleanup. We offer free on-street and off-street parking, and the Solarium is fully accessible for our disabled guests.
