Benefit Concert
A nonprofit in Conway called Jubilee is wanting to put on a benefit concert to raise funds and awareness for a an organization in Zambia, Africa called the Zambia Project. We don't want to have it outdoors because we don't want to be dependent on weather. A few places have turned us down and a few places are way out of our price range. Just looking for a small-ish building. We want to have an eclectic feel and it needs to hold around 100 or so people. We are having local, unpaid bands come to play as a theme for our night of "Local Music, Global Hope". If you know of any places in Conway that would work, please please please let me know!

throwing a baby shower. I live in CO but lived in Walnut Creek for 19 years, so familiar with the area. Guests will come from Sacramento, Turlock, Tracy, and Walnut Creek. Thinking San Ramon area. Shower will be during the week due to schedule of parents-to-be. Thinking of traffic hassles,etc. Any good ideas for a venue? I am looking for any suggestions, unique ideas and/or locations around the Leesburg, FL area.
My fiance and I would like to have an October wedding and we are having trouble finding places that are within our budget since most require you to use their catering services, which is fine except their catering prices are more than what we were planning on spending. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Have you thought about The Lakeland Room at Lake Mirror Tower. It is a wonderful room for 100 Guests. It includes new chairs and also the tables. The price to rent the room is $700.00 and it is yours for the day. The office is open from 9:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday and from 9:00 to 3:00 on Saturdays. We also have a wedding planner for the room if you would like to have assistance in finding those vendors you are looking for and stay within your budget. We are at 130 S. Massachusetts Avenue downtown Lakeland.
My friend arranged her sister sweet sixteen party at leonards palazzo long island NY and it was very well organised, and in the budget.She consulted a party planner and I would suggest you the same,consult a party planner.

Looking for party room for 75 people
I am looking for a room with decorations like, center pieces, linens, table cloth, chair covers, and silverware for $1200. Does anyone know a place like that close to Stafford, TX, the zip code is 77477. It is for my daughter's baptism and one year birthday party. We will do the catering separately or can use a caterer the hall provides as long as with catering, it does not go over $2000. Please help!

We are wanting to do something a little bit "different" for our wedding in October and am looking for help with venue suggestions in and around the Atlanta area please. Ideally we'd like a venue which has an industrial/urban/rustic feel to it such as exposed brick, iron work etc - somewhere with a bit of character and "wow" factor.. and that will leave people thinking "I've never been to a wedding like "that" before!..." (hopefully in a good way lol!).. We're not too keen on the idea of having everything draped and wrapped in white material and would love to do something a bit artsy, possibly with a bit of a gothic and/industrial style.. We've got tonnes of ideas about what we'd LOVE to do and have.. if we had the money.. but realistically we can't spend much more than about $5k.. If we can just find a suitable venue for around 100-150 people which would fit the theme/idea, we can then start to price up all the accessories etc to personalize it to our taste..but so far haven't been able to find anywhere suitable in our price range.

Any ideas anyone? ..

I am planning my wedding here in NY. OMG is it hard. Finding a venue is killing me. Don't know if I should have a wedding planner because thats more money. Living in NY alone is Expensive so imaging trying to find what you want at reasonable prices. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Need a location for 40th Bday party
Something that allows us to bring our own food, DJ and alcohol (the location would ideally have a bar, speakers/sound system for the DJ to plug into), we would be roughly 80-100 people.
Any suggestions?

There are many advises you get to hear about wedding and specially before getting married. I think the best would be to" stay together in thick and thin".
Without DJ, party can't be complete. As DJ is the only person who can play best with the crowd.

Ahhh I am turning 30 and instead of crying in the fetal position over my age I've deiced to go a more positive rout. Looking for a cool space nothing to big, to hold any where from 45-70 people Any where in the San Jose, Palo Alto or San Francisco area. I would love to hire a dj for dancing, and want a place where we can let loose and have fun for a few hours.

I am looking for a AWESOME place to throw my husband a surprise 30th birthday party! I plan on about 50-100 people if I am lucky, I would be interested in food, but would also be fine with bringing it!

I want a place were we aren't going to be yelled at for being to loud, I want to hire a band and want enough room for people to dance, but not to much room that it looks silly!

I know this post is not recent but for other brides that may be asking themselves the same question, the Hanover Arts & Activities Center ( http://www.eventective.com/USA/Virginia/Ashland/75845/Hanover-Arts-Activities-Center.html) in Ashland is a venue which rents for $1500 on Saturdays from March through December and $1000 on Saturdays January through February. The rental includes tables and chairs and black table linens and white chair covers are available for reasonable rental rates. You have access to the building from 9AM-12AM on Saturday and for an additional $300 you can rent the building on Friday for set up. You set up your tables and decorations and we break down the tables and clean the building after the event. Ashland is convenient to Richmond and Fredericksburg, the Richmond Airport is an easy drive and Amtrak has a station in the center of town which is walking distance to the venue. The town offers all amenities for out of town guests and several restaurants close by specialize in rehearsal dinners. Call 804.798.2728 or email info@hanoverarts.org for more information.
