How do you plan a sweet 16 for a girl that wants to do something small, but also wants something big and have alot of her friends attend? SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME! HER BIRTHDAY IS OCTOBER 5. So i dont have that much longer to plan it.
I recently hired Michael Kotch to take 1-hour of candid photos following my wedding at the Justice Court building in Tucson, AZ. I paid a $50 deposit via Pay Pal and Mr. Kotch said he had me on his schedule.
He was to meet us between 5:45 and 6pm that day to take photos on the way to Janos' restaurant. As it happened, we were among the first ceremonies to be performed and went outside to wait for Michael at 5:20pm. It was a typical hot afternoon in downtown Tucson. We waited for him until 5:55pm and then asked the guard on duty to tell him we had left for the restaurant.
According to Mr. Kotch, he arrived at 6pm and left when the guard told him we had gone to Janos. He made no attempt to speak to me or to meet us at the restaurant. Nevertheless, he feels he fulfilled his "obligation" to us.
I am 72 years old, so I expect this to be my last wedding. I have no photos with which to remember the day. I am very unhappy and disappointed.
I cannot find a place to post my negative recommendation of Affordable Photography, the name under which Michael Kotch does business. I would like to warn people about his integrity or lack thereof.

I am new to the Orlando area, but one of the things that has surprised me is the lack of outdoor weddings. Yes, the weather can be an issue, but if everyone is flexible, it is just beautiful! As I do the Photo Booth side of the entertainment, I understand how challenging the weather can be, but there are sooo many places.

I have planned a wedding for Aug 9th at a place in Galveston. Due to unfortunately and unexpected things, I am in need to change the venue. So I am looking into using one of the Wedding Chapel services for a short beach ceremony but I need an affordable place to have a reception. This will be for about 40 people - I just need a dance floor, a bar and food or amenities for an outside caterer. ANY ideas out there????? We are planning to marry on April 4, 2015. We participated in a private ceremony by ourselves with the Justice of the Peace on April 6, 2014. Our friends and family members have been chatting every since about the need to celebrate via a ceremony. We are interested in the idea, but the stress of planning is why we skipped the show in the first place
If we are successful in planning a wedding, or I guess this is better described as a vow renewal, that costs $4,000 or less...the celebration will happen. If not... Well, we'll stay positive.
Any insight that you can offer about inexpensive indoor venues (preferably one that doesn't really call for many decorations- like an affordable museum, gallery, historic home), caterer, DJ, photographer, bartender, etc. will be greatly appreciated. The preferred location is Atlanta including Metro Atlanta (towards the north or northwest- ex: Cobb County). We live in Marietta and do not mind new venues or vendors that need business for marketing purposes. That is not to say that we are not interested in the tried and true options.

Thank you for being kind and planning a special party for your friend's 15th birthday. She is fortunate to have a caring friend such as yourself.
My first thought is to make the party a partial, but not a total surprise. That is, tell your friend you are planning something very special for her 15th Birthday. Ask her:
- if there is anything really special she would like to do
- if there is anything she does not want to do
- who must be invited
- who should not be invited.
Agree on a place and time where you will meet her for her special surprise celebration. Tell her that you want most of the event to be a surprise, so you won't be telling her any more about it, even if she asks questions. Tell her not to worry about what she'll be wearing as you'll select something for her for the occasion since telling her what to wear might spoil some of the surprise. (You may find some clothes from your closet, a friend with a similar size's closet, or work with her mom to select something from your friend's closet.)
Why do I strongly recommend against the total surprise? Your friend may be feeling badly that her mom can't afford a big event, especially between now and her birthday. You don't want her to feel badly. You want her to have fun looking forward to her birthday and the event. There are still plenty of opportunities for surprises.

The best piece of advice we got was on our honeymoon. We were in a little pub in Llangollen, Wales, when an old gentleman came up to us at the bar and asked "On honeymoon are you" We of course said yes. He said one piece of advice will take you through all your married life "Never, I mean Never go to bed angry at each other". We have stuck by that piece of advice and here we are 47 years later!!

After seeing the photos, I wished I lived in Miami cuz I would have had mine this summer at their Garden Outposts...amazing! I don't live there, I live in Vancouver, British Columbia. Their address is also good luck in that it's 1111 Jungle Island Trail. Multiple 1's are good luck.
