Description
Marshall University is a multi-campus public university providing innovative undergraduate and graduate education that contributes to the development of society and the individual. The University actively facilitates learning through preservation, discovery, synthesis, and dissemination of knowledge. The Memorial Student Center exists as a living memorial to those killed in the November 14, 1970 plane crash. The Student Center maintains a continuing goal of providing facilities, services, conveniences and amenities to enhance life for our university community. The MSC Operations Office is responsible for business operations in the Student Center and for the implementation of several contract operations, including campus-wide vending contracts and an ATM contract with a campus banking component.
Opened in 1971, the Memorial Student Center underwent major renovation during 1997-98 culminating in the opening of a 7,000 square foot wing on the west end of the building to house the university bookstore. In addition to the MU Bookstore, the Memorial Student Center also houses a Recreation Area, several dining areas and a Catering Office, student service related offices, the Marshall University ID Office, an Electronic Post Office, and numerous rooms that can be scheduled for meetings and conferences. The Memorial Student Center's mission is to create and maintain an atmosphere that encourages each individual's self-development by providing facilities, services, conveniences, and amenities to enhance life.
Facility use and scheduling information is available through the Facilities Scheduling Office, located in room 2W17 of the Student Center. Marshall University offers full dining services as well as a complete catering service. Our dining staff can accommodate your group's needs, whether you are seeking a simple luncheon or an elegant formal dinner. Several facilities are available for dining so you can choose the dining experience you prefer, from a large cafeteria-style setting, formal banquet hall, or an intimate upscale restaurant atmosphere.
