 8/4/2011 | | "Come Party and Have Some Vino!", An Eventective User from Houston, Texas | Since I am in my late 20s, many of my friends have been getting married and having children. This means I have had to throw a few parties lately, and my favorite venue for parties has become The Tasting Room, a wine tasting room. The location I have experience with is The Tasting Room of Uptown Park, Houston.
The Tasting Room is a quaint, upscale wine-tasting bar that has separate wine tasting rooms in the back. The room I use comfortably seats up to 20 guests, and the walls are lined with wine storage bins. It's gorgeous! The price is extremely reasonable compared to other wine tasting rooms in Houston - trust me, I have done my research!
For one price, a guest can reserve the room for 4 hours, and you are able to select the wine to be served from a large list of wines ranging from the reasonably priced to the very pricey. You do have to purchase the wine from The Tasting Room, but the prices are good comparatively.
The food offered is exceptional. You can select from casual fare to elegant dining. The more formal dining menu can be a bit expensive, but I think it is probably perfect for a corporate event.
The Tasting Room really takes care of all of your party needs! You do not need to do much in way of decorations because the walls are lined with such gorgeous stacks of wine. The lighting is dim and non-harsh, and the floor is a beautiful stained cement.
The staff at The Tasting Room could not be nicer! They are incredibly helpful. They will direct your guests to the back to the private rooms, and they are always asking what they can do to help. They offer help, and they sure do provide it! During my last party, I had forgotten to charge my iPhone, so any guests who needed to call would not be able to reach me. One staff member overheard me complaining about this, and she went to the back, retrieved her charger, and brought it to me. Crisis averted!
If you want an elegant yet affordable small party, The Tasting Room will not disappoint you. I have created some beautiful parties with the help of the wonderful staff of this wine bar.
Finally, when your party is over, the wine bar is the perfect place to mingle with your friends! You can order wine by the glass or by the bottle. The staff can answer any question you have about wine, wine pairings, etc...
