|If you're looking for a great place to get married in the Dallas area, you should definitely consider the Orion Ballroom. I heard of it because one of my good friends recommended it after attending a Wedding ceremony there. At first I thought it would not be such a great place, but after visiting the location and speaking with the staff I decided to choose that location for my big day. Honestly, I could not be happier with the choice. I was very impressed (as were all of the guests!) by the incredible view. The Orion Ballroom itself sits on the 15th floor of a building in downtown Dallas, and gives you a complete 360-degree view of the surrounding area. We chose to have our wedding at dusk, so we saw the sun set and watched the stars come out during the event. It was spectacular. That's not it though, the service people are what made the entire event. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, and obviously had lots of experience in wedding planning and event hosting. They made sure that the whole event went smoothly, which was a big deal for me because of course, I was very panicked and so was my wife. Another thing i really liked about it was how classy the whole affair seemed to be. The Bar/lounge area is beautiful and very relaxing, it was perfect for what we were looking for. The enormous reception area was important because we had a lot of friends and family to invite. Also, there is a game room which was good for the many young kids in my family, and the families of my friends. All in all it was a very good venue and I would recommend it to someone looking for a place to get married in Dallas.|

|I went to a minor event with my company where I had an opportunity to take in this event space. I had never been here before, so my review is mostly on first impressions, things could be different and varied in each event.|
Nice facility, food was pretty good, seemed well run and had multiple rooms.
Valet parking was complimentary, and was fairly easy to find.
Opportunities to improve:
AV guy seemed kind of clueless, had some mishaps, and could have been worse though.
Food was pretty good, but need to stay on top of it. Was running out while there was a massive line, so people didn't take as much, then brought out a ton more after 'dinner' was over. Easy problem to fix, and management needs to make sure that doesn't happen. I'd have had plenty to say if it was my event, but the food was really great regardless.
Good place though, check it out for parties or weddings. I had never heard of it before, but I would definitely recommend it to others, very easy access in the Oak cliff neighborhood.
As we were leaving, preparations were getting under way for a wedding reception the next evening, and I see how this venue would be a nice option for that.
As a participant, this location is A-OK. If you are planning to host an event at a meeting, you may want to be sure and work closely with the staff to ensure you get what you need BEFORE you show up the day of the event.
