Daily Dish Cafe and Catering, Franklin — Chef Sean Begin, owner & chef, is not new to the restaurant and catering industry. A native Bostonian, his 20 years of experience has lead him across the country mastering culinary delights from rustic Italian cuisine at Cacina Rustica in Vail, Colorado to French Classical at Café L’europe in Palm Beach Florida. He also gained valuable experience at The Mansions at Ocean Edge Resort, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. In 1994, Chef Sean moved to Nashville where he began his chef’s term with Capital Grille within the Hermitage Hotel. Next up, Sean took on the task of establishing Big Guns Catering, an affiliate of the Bound’ry Restaurant, and it was here that the Tennessee Restaurant Association named him Chef of the Year 2001. In the summer of 2002, Sean opened Copper Kettle Café and Catering in Green Hills to rave reviews. He has had the opportunity to cater for numerous dignitaries and celebrities in the Nashville and surrounding areas. His client list includes….Nickel Creek, Phil Vasser, Wynonna Judd, Allison Kraus, Sheryl Crowe, Brittney Spears, Hilliary Clinton, Martha Ingram, Titans, Minnie Pearl Foundation Pearl Ball, Meharry Medical Center, Vanderbilt University, Nissian, and many many more… In the spring of 2007 Chef Sean began the next chapter of his culinary career. He and his wife, Jill (whom he met at the Capital Grill and was restaurant manager), opened the Daily Dish in the Grassland neighborhood of Franklin. Sean, a Boston native, and Jill, from Alabama…. bring a whole new meaning to fusion. From Gravy to Gourmet, you won’t find a better variety of menus and influences more perfectly fused in Nashville. Chef Sean, Jill and their son, Jon Luc (their greatest fusion) live in Grassland and love the work they do with the community and surrounding areas…..Sean manages to bring a little southern flair to all his dishes, whether the client is searching for upscale fine cuisine or a down-home traditional menu….one thing is certain….”Simple can be exquisite.” Catering is a passion that Chef Sean shares with Daily Dish Catering Director, Aimee Altman….She is no stranger to the business. She graduated from Belmont University in 2001 earning her bachelor’s degree in business. After working in the music industry in artist relations and marketing, she found her passion for event planning. Her experience in the restaurant industry throughout college prepped her knowledge of cuisine and allowed her to combine her creative planning skills with food. Her resume boasts catering and planning events for many celebrities including Rascal Flatts, Phil Vassar, Sara Bareilles, Keith Urban and Ray Stevens. She has catered events for the Make a Wish Foundation, Vintners, Pearl Ball, the CMA’s, Belmont’s 2008 Presidential Debate, and many more. Her passion now….planning events for Williiamson County and the surrounding area’s “not so daily affairs” with the Daily Dish team.
