The North Carolina Biotechnology Center, headquartered in Research Triangle Park with small regional offices throughout the state, is the world’s first government-sponsored organization dedicated to developing the biotechnology industry. The Biotechnology Center was created by the State of North Carolina in 1984 as a private, non-profit corporation. Its mission is to provide long-term economic and societal benefits to North Carolina by supporting biotechnology research, business and education statewide.

A service of the North Carolina Biotechnology Center, the Hamner Center is equipped with more than 19,000 square feet of meeting space available to biotechnology and non-biotechnology clients for either professional or educational events. One of the most appealing aspects of the 10 rooms and garden that comprise the Hamner Center is the versatility of these meeting spaces. A 170-seat auditorium, a 40-seat boardroom, a 100-seat banquet room, upper and lower gallerias, video conference capability, smaller meeting spaces for up to 22, and a beautiful, walled garden for outdoor events ideally accommodate a variety of professional and educational meetings. Each space in the Conference Center is uniquely suited to particular meetings and events, and they are certified by IACC, the International Association of Conference Centers.
