The Union Square Theatre is located off of Manhattan’s famous Union Square in the former Tammany Hall, which was built in 1936. The proscenium stage is a perfect location for plays, readings, intimate concerts, meetings, benefits, galas, fund-raisers, fashion shows and television shows. The 499 seat house can accommodate almost any event. The lobby includes a small concession area is licensed for the sale of beer and wine. The theatre is fully air conditioned and while handicap accessible seating is available, there are no elevators or escalators to accommodate Mezzanine seating (which is up one flight of stairs). It is mostly recently known for its productions of Jump and Break Out (playing through November 2008).
