"Everything That You'd Want", An Eventective User from Richmond, VA
Assuming that you're not looking something to hold thousands of people, the Hutton Conference Center should have all that you need to organize a reasonable meeting. It's clean and well-lit, has all of the proper projection and electrical hookups, has a good price for the venue, and a friendly staff willing to help you with anything that you'd want to know.

The space is surprisingly modern for what it seems on the outside, so don't let first impressions dissuade you. As described on their website, they have a modern projector and plasma screen for your use, as well as full internet connectivity throughout the building. The conference center is only about 10 miles from the airport so getting in and out and back on the road is no trouble, and the accommodations in the area surrounding the place are just as nice as anything else.

We experienced no issues whatsoever, and in our long history with small conference centers such as these, had no complaints. There are so many issue that you can run into, last minute things, that'll trip you up when giving a presentation or organizing an audience around places like these, and even though there were a few hiccups (all caused by miscommunication on our part), all wrinkles were quickly ironed out by the previously mentioned staff - they were professional and kind, and we'd love to work with them again if we ever organize another meetup in Kansas City.

If you need a small-sized conference building with minimum hassle, The Builders' Association Hutton Conference Center will fit your bill.
