Their style is unique to Chicago and they love to embrace it by displaying items that made Chicago notorious whether it is tommy guns and other prohibition era decor or adverts for the famous Chicago hotdog. I personally have catered with Portillos well over ten times, for all sorts of occasions including birthdays, graduations and even Christmas. Their Italian beef is hand's down the best in the city and there is no difference in taste whether it is a sandwich on your lunch break or a full tray for your family get together. Not only is their food delicious, there is such a great variety including classic Italian cuisine, Italian Cuisine with a classic Chicago twist or something completely new like their many fruit salads or delicious desserts. Not only is the food top notch but the service is in this day and age unexpectedly good, something generally hard to find in a company that caters in my personal experience. You can tell the caterers care about the quality that goes into each order, and as stated I have ordered with them numerous times rest assured the quality is consistent with each order. The kicker to great food, great service, great locations is of course great price! While catering done right is never cheap (rightly so!) Portillos catering could hardly be described as expensive. For the quality of food you receive with each catered event the price could very well be doubled and still be considered reasonable by most. In conclusion Portillos is one of your best bets for catering in the Chicago area, you will not be disappointed!
