"Great ice cream", An Eventective User from Orinda, Ca
When I went to Ghirardelli square, I expected and got all of these things:
Great ice cream parlor. From my childhood I remember going to this place. We got a wild variation of ice cream. They really really have a lot to choose from. From “Sundays” to “cable car” dishes, they have it all. And besides the ice cream the parlor was interesting too. They had a chocolate machine opened up and mixing chocolate. It was really an amazing site to see chocolate getting grinded down, then mixed, and then further treated.
A great area indeed. Ghirardelli square is one of the best places to visit in San Francisco. Not to mention if you happen to be in Ghirardelli square on October 8-9 you will see the wonderful blue angels airshow. Ghirardelli square also has loads of street performers. Want to see a silver painted man moving like a robot? Or a bunch of British accented acrobats riding unicycles that are about 8ft high. Ghirardelli square is nicely along ocean you can always see big cargo ships or small tiny sails boats sailing in or out of San Francisco.
A lack of space. This very popular destination in San Francisco is very crowded. You have to wait in line to get a simple ice cream dish. You have to go minutes on end just to find yourself a parking spot. And parking is also very expensive. This is the only reason Ghirardelli square is 4 out of 5 stars. It’s really a pain to go about such a crowded place.
