Hi, I've edited many wedding videos for people who have brought me their footage. The problem I found a lot of the time is bad sound. So I have developed a method of using a separate recorder that records all the sound that's going through the house speakers. This leaves me free to roam and get the best shots, along with the best sound. My Hi-def footage makes outstanding DVDs. I have an example of my shooting philosophy on my website.
As an editor I know what full coverage means when shooting. Cutaways, reaction shots, establishing shots are absolute musts for a quality end product. Shooting film and video for more that 30 years I have always "brought home the bacon" cinematically speaking. The old saying goes.... "you get what you pay for" But my clients always...."Get MORE than they pay for".
