About YWCA Wausau
The YWCA is centrally located in downtown Wausau - minutes by foot to many bars, restaurants, and hotels in the area. Housed in a beautiful and historic Georgian mansion built in 1928 as the YWCA, many of the rooms retain their historic elegance. The Auditorium has large windows and beautiful hardwood floors and the picturesque Parlor offers plenty of opportunities for timeless photos. We offer several additional rentals to complete your day, such as dishes, flatware, microphone, and a commercial kitchen. All rental fees charged by the YWCA go towards expanding and retaining many of our innovative community initiatives, like providing exceptional early childhood education, an anti-bullying program, our women’s business incubator program, and many programs for teens and young adults that teach self-sufficiency. The YWCA Wausau is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. We are epic in honoring and cultivating the unique potential of every individual for a comprehensive approach to school-ready, life-ready women, children, and families.
