Selina II Sailing Charters offers daily 2 hour excursions from the quaint Eastern Shore village of St Michaels MD, Chesapeake Bay, as well as romantic sunset cruises, private charters engagements, weddings, wine tastings and sailing lessons. Operated by Capt Iris Clarke, the granddaughter of the original owners, Selina II limits her guests to just 6 passengers for an intimate taste of the history of sail. Built in 1926 Selina II is 42’long and 16’ wide for a roomy and stable boat ride. She is the largest of the surviving vintage New England catboats. Her freshly varnished mahogany and brightly polished brass are the perfect setting for a nostalgic day out on the water. Special Events include Log Canoe Race viewing, 4th of July Fireworks, Moonlight Sails, and custom catered dinners. Selina II operates from April 23 to Oct 31. We depart from the dock at the Harbour Inn and Marina in St Michaels and Capt. Iris gives a brief harbor tour. She talks about what you are seeing along the picturesque waterfront as well as a bit the history of St Michaels and about the story of her grandfather's boat, Selina II. Then we leave the harbor and go out into the Miles River, put up sails, and follow the wind. You are welcome to participate as a working crew member, or simply sit back and relax. We're here to help you completely enjoy your historic yacht experience. Guests often ask what they should bring, we recommend comfortable shoes, sunscreen, cameras, and a light jacket in spring and fall. Our two hour day sailing trips are from 10am-12noon, 12:30-2:30, and 3:00-5:00 every day from April 23-Sept 30. Oct 1-31 hours are 11:30-1:30, and 2-4. Cost is $50pp, or $45 cash discount. In the evenings we set sail to enjoy the late afternoon sun and celebrate with Our Romantic Sunset Champagne Cruise. Trips are from 5:30-7:30pm, April 26-Sept 30. (Oct 1-31 is 4:30-6:30). Cost is $65pp, or $60 cash discount Sun-Fri. Sat $75pp. Plus there is a 10% amusement tax in St. Michaels harbor, and it is customary to tip the ship's mate like a restaurant, 15%-20%.
