With two stories of hands-on sports and health exhibits, the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame & Museum celebrates past and present athletes and inspires future ones. At the Hall of Fame, experience speed as you pitch to a radar gun, or drive a NASCAR simulator. Develop your skill at broadcast journalism as “You Make the Call” during an exciting sports moment. Explore careers in health and sports medicine in the Bon Secours Training Room, complete with virtual exercise equipment, food pyramid and a skeleton that rides a bike! Find your role model among the 247 inductees of the Hall of Fame, whose success stories—on and off the field—are portrayed throughout the museum. The Hall of Fame also features exhibits on the Washington Redskins, Virginia Olympians, NASCAR, college sports, and stars like David Wright and Ronde Barber. Catch a ballgame in the Cox Digital Theater, and visit the Final Score Gift Shop for souvenirs for the sports fans in your life. The Virginia Sports Hall of Fame is located just a short walk from the Elizabeth River passenger ferry, the new Renaissance Hotel and Waterfront Conference Center, and the NTelos Harbor Pavilion, a riverfront amphitheater and performing arts center. Meeting facilities include the 125-seat multimedia theater, classroom and boardroom space, as well as reception areas with an open exhibit hall that can accommodate small parties or receptions in excess of 500.
